This is a solid release. Impressive Picture and Audio! Even though Shout is new to the Blu-ray game they started off doing a fantastic job.

Re: Audition (Takashi Miike)
It was nice to see your comment and to see the great review on the site. A few people have complained that the picture wasn't perfect. We did the transfer from the inter-negative. I thought it looked great considering it was a low-budget film. The grain was there and we could have used noise reduction which was evident in the other two releases, but the picture would have become soft. I prefer a sharper picture and some grain..... but after being in this business for 15 years, I know I can't please everyone
Thanks again for the nice comments...

Absolutely the right way to go. Tell your bosses and benefactors that the DVD/BD community greatly appreciates this "first, do no harm" approach to digital transfers!

Re: Audition (Takashi Miike)
I did the same at BCI and received some bad reviews for those few Blu-Ray titles we released... oh well...

Re: Audition (Takashi Miike)
Sigh. Apparently I can't hear any dialog while listening to the film via DTS MA or TrueHD. The dialog is so low that I have to put my ear up to the front speaker to hear anything. Switch the 2.0 stereo and I can hear dialog just fine. Tried rebooting playing etc. with no luck. Tried switching tracks via the menu...nothing. That'll teach me to open my mouth before watching the whole Blu-ray disc. The soundtrack is stunning in TrueHD/DTS MA, but the audio....not so much. Must be a player problem.
