The director put the extended cut on the backburner and decided to make another movie. There's been no indication whether he has picked up the project since then or if he will in the near future. I'm sure Criterion is waiting for him to either create the extended cut or nix the entire idea. If it goes forward, you'll probably hear about a theatrical release or a French Blu-ray release before they announce a new Criterion edition.

man the last sale really warped my expectations with the 15 dollar credit if you buy a 75 dollar gift card. I might just have to wait until Nov/Dec again and go nuts.
