Poseidon Adventure. Before the days of the multi-plexes that movie was drawing huge lines. these days they'd just play it on multiple screens. We waited months for the lines to die down before we went

Good news: As Good As It Gets Blu-ray hits June 12.

Bad news: Sony wimps out and is letting this being handled by Twilight Time. So expect another 3,000 copies and insanely high pricing.

Cool. I remember they announced a new version coming, so I didn't buy the current disc. I will be getting this for sure.

Yeah, sometimes you just can never figure out studio marketing.

For those interested, the HTF has a picture of the digibook art for this. It will be a BD and a DVD with the DVD containing a documentary called "Stanley Kubrick's Boxes." I looked this up and it apparently runs about 50 minutes. It doesn't say what's included on the BD other than the movie so I'm guessing it's the same disc currently available.

EDIT: Just found further info at blu-ray.com.

The Grapes of Wrath (1940) and Zorba the Greek (1964) -- April 3 from Screen Archives

NOTE: These are NOT Twilight Time releases and are not limited pressings. They do, however, carry a TT-like price tag of $29.95. Hopefully they will go into general release later.

Although, since the Boxes doc is on a separate disc, the mastering of the first disc could be the same as the 2007 version (which was the 2nd). I guess we'll be able to tell by the soundtrack; if it's PCM again instead of DTS-HD MA, it's almost certainly the same as before.

Speaking of great shows, Amazon.com is now taking pre-orders for Blu-ray and DVD versions of Fringe: The Complete Fourth Season (SRP $69.97 and $59.98 but 30% off on Amazon.). Street date is still TBA. Thanks to Bits reader Jon H. for the link!

Meanwhile, Blue Underground has announced that their planned Blu-ray release of A Bullet for the General (due 5/22) will now be a 2-disc Special Edition containing both the U.S. version (115 minutes) and the international cut (118 mins).

Also today, Lionsgate has set One for the Money for Blu-ray and DVD release on 5/15.
