Awesome!

Nice to finally have a date. I recently upgraded my S1/S2 to Blu-Ray, so I can't wait to get S3.

I haven't upgraded my S1/S2 sets to Blu, but I might if this pack is a reasonable price. Either way, I can't wait to finally watch S3.

I think the MSRP for 3 pack was $179.99. Not very reasonable

I just picked up Season 2 yesterday for $25 bucks used, so I'm definitely in for this, but I'll probably wait until I can get it for a similar price.

Can't wait to get this! Easily one of the best shows currently airing in my opinion.

Ouch! Looks like I'll be sticking with my SD sets for a while.

I still need to grab S2 so I hope they do a "Buy S3 get x off S2" deal. $35 on Amazon for 12 episodes is a bit too rich for my blood.

Re: Dexter: Season 3 8/18/09

I bought both season 1 and season 2 brand new for less than 35 dollars each so don't go by the suggested retail price. You just have to be patient and wait for the deal. Besides, Best Buy has Season 2 at a regular price of 49.99 so going by that if you're paying the highest price you would get all 3 seasons for 150 plus tax. MSRP is meaningless at this point. I'm excited about season 3 since we were only able to catch the first two episodes.

Why does such a highly acclaimed show still continue to get stiffed in the extras department?

Season one of Sons of Anarchy comes out on the same day. It's going to be an expensive Tuesday...

I'm still going to buy this but I really wish CBS/Paramount would put together some better features for these sets. A commentary on some of the episodes or something would be nice. I think the first season had them for 2 episodes maybe but they haven't done them since.

Yeah, when "CSI: Miami" (also from CBS/Paramount) gets more features, there's something wrong, lol.

It's annoying. I do find it a little ridiculous how much non-Dexter related extras Showtime does manage to promote on each DVD release though.

To me it seems like all the in-house showtime series get the shaft when it comes to DVDs. "Dexter," "Californication," "The Tudors," "The L Word," and "Queer as Folk" were all pretty light on the extras. In most cases the first season will get a commentary and maybe a featurette but from then on its only "bonus episodes" of barely-relatable TV shows. The only series on showtime that gets a proper release is "Weeds" and thats because its lionsgate instead of CBS/Paramount.

I mean "90210" (also CBS/Paramount) is even getting two commentaries and like an hour of documentaries...

Dexter is doing the whole BD-Live exclusive crap again. Really crapp.

And 90210's extras are pretty sparse. Already watched them all last week :( Gossip Girls are the same way. Studios are really skimping.

Target's ad for this week boasts an exclusive 60min Comic Con Q&A. Uncertain if it's on the blu, but perhaps folk who make it to Target can let us know.

Sticker was on the DVD versions and not the Blu's. Sorry. :( I bought the DVD (with bonus disc) though, since I already have Season 1 & 2 on DVD too.

Best Buy's red plastic slipcover (also only on DVD methinks) is pretty lame btw. It's just plain red all around with the title logo on front. :/

I picked my copy up at Target and it doesn't have a bonus disc inside. Quite disappointing that you pay more and yet still miss out on a store exclusive. The only reason I picked it up there was because nowhere else in town had any copies in on Blu-ray.

Bleddyn Williams 08-19-09 08:12 AM

Re: Dexter: Season 3 8/18/09

That is pretty weak. I believe in the past one season of The Office had a Target exclusive where the extra material was actually part of one of the discs - in other words, a special pressing for Target.

If the Dexter Q&A is an actual bonus disc, there's no reason they couldn't have put that in their blu-ray copies.

Thanks, Target!

picked up the DVD version from Target yesterday with the bonus disc. as i was checking out, i noticed Tarjay has these signs plastered all over their checkout lines and CSR areas, advertising that they now pricematch during these tough times. is this a new policy? i haven't been there in a few weeks. i pulled out my BestBuy ad, walked over to CSR and got the set for $24.99 ($2 less than Tarjay's price).

So... any deals on this this week? I haven't seen many. I just finished the 2nd season this morning, so I'm raring to go on the third.
