In an announcement to retailers, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has
disclosed that they will soon release 'Fast & Furious' on Blu-ray, day-
and-date with the DVD. No specific street date was given, but the preorder-
close date points to August. This will be a two-disc special edition with a digital
copy included.


Extras include:

• Digital copy of the film


• Under the Hood: Muscle Cars & Imports


• High Octane Action: The Stunts


• Shooting the Big Rig Heist


• Driving School with Vin Diesel


• Original short film 'Los bandoleros': the never-before-seen short film that
  reveals the events leading up to the explosive beginning of 'Fast &
  Furious'


• U-Control:




• Paul Walker and director Justin Lin take control of your player to reveal
  exciting behind-the-scenes details


• Virtual Car Garage: look closely at the hot cars, then create your own
  custom vehicle and share it with your friends




• BD-Live:




• Create your own Fast & Furious Video Mashup featuring action and music
  from the film, then share it via BD-Live


• BD-Live Center

Universal will also concurrently release the three previous Fast and Furious
films 'The Fast and the Furious', '2 Fast 2 Furious' and 'The Fast and the
Furious: Tokyo Drift' on Blu-ray on separate 2-disc special editions.

HD Room says there won't be a box set for all 4 films on BD, but will on DVD.

Any word on wether there still wont be a 4-movie BD boxset? I hope there will be cos I'd definitely go for that.

No set for all 4. You can probably get the trilogy set cheap through Deep Discount's sale and then add part 4 from Amazon.

Watched the disc the other night with the "Take Control" feature selected.

Not as seamless as Watchmen's Maximum Movie Mode (which used seamless branching --- and Universal's presentation switches to 1080i for their footage), but there's a lot more on-screen content when Lin or Walker are presenting especially when it comes to altering the footage at hand (pausing, rewinding, fast forwarding, etc). Still a great concept, but hasn't been executed perfectly yet.

The PQ/AQ is top notch. Diesel's short film, on the other hand, boring as fuck.

Even though I have 1-3 on dvd I picked up the BB exclusive Blu-ray today. The bonus dvd comes in a white paper case inside it. I guess this will suffice, as I can replace it in the second slot when I chunk the POS digital copy lol

Watching a couple scenes right now, looks solid.
