FYI: "The Da Vinci Code/eMovie Cash" redeemed via BD-Live or Snail Mail

The fine print on the sticker:

Make sure that your Blu-ray player is connected to the Internet. Select the BD-Live button from the Special Features menu on the disc to connect to the BD-Live Screen and enter the following code to redeem e-Movie Cash:

XXXXXXX

If you do not have BD-Live, mail this sticker along with a copy of your receipt for the purchase of this Blu-ray Disc to the following address and include you mailing address so that your movie ticket can be mailed to you or include your email address to have your movie ticket e-mailed to you:

ANGELS & DEMONS Movie Cash
TPG Rewards Inc.
111 John Street, 27th Floor
New York, NY 10038

You should receive your movie ticket 7-10 business days after mailing this sticker and a copy of your receipt. For questions, e-mail [email protected] or call 1-800-860-2878.

Just sharing the info.

A nice little way to get you to connect to BD-Live which will give Sony some numbers to tout how 'successful' the service is.

So they can tout the crap BD Live had been so far. Fab. Makes me appreciate those little stickers with the code inside previous releases that had movie cash. DaVinci Code doesn't seem to scream live content to me.

The movie cash certificate isn't inside the case? You have to send away for it?

Re: FYI: "The Da Vinci Code/eMovie Cash" redeemed via BD-Live or Snail Mail

No, you redeem it via BD-Live (or if you can't access BD-Live, you can get it by mail). You put the code from the sticker into BD-Live along with your e-mail address and it sends a link to the e-Movie Cash PDF to your e-mail.

I just sent away for it by including a copy of my receipt, the sticker, and my email address, and they'll email the movie cash within 7-10 days (so it says). Annoying that they don't just make it easier for people, though.

One wonders how you print out the movie cash from BD-Live. Perhaps it generates an email to you? Or do you hook up an USB printer to your BD-Live player... bahaha.

It sends an e-mail to your provided e-mail address.

Tried to get the code to work on BDLive and it says not valid. Did anyone get it to work or do we have to wait a few days?

I got an error the first three times I tried, then it worked on the fourth try. Checked my email, and they sent me four tickets. Must be some kind of glitch. Only problem is the tickets are good in the US only and I'm in Canada. All the trouble to set up BD Live for nothing I guess :(

Mind if I use them? :)

Mine worked the first time. Got the e-mail within 5-minutes, but it did take a long time to type everything in...

Re: FYI: "The Da Vinci Code/eMovie Cash" redeemed via BD-Live or Snail Mail

Does anyone know if the codes are good for one ticket only? I used the same code twice with different email addresses and got 2 tickets that way. The redemption code didn't seem that long, so is this just some generic number they're using?

beebs 05-04-09 05:38 PM

Re: FYI: "The Da Vinci Code/eMovie Cash" redeemed via BD-Live or Snail Mail

You sure you got two different movie cash certificates? Sometimes they send you the same one again... look at the numbers.

Re: FYI: "The Da Vinci Code/eMovie Cash" redeemed via BD-Live or Snail Mail

Sorry, should have clarified - yes, the certificates do have different numbers. But if I keep using the same code and different email addresses, I can get as many as I want? Not looking to, I was just surprised it was that easy.

BD-Live & Da Vinci Code Blu-Ray:

I have a Sony BDP-BX1 w/firmware v.19

Is anybody else having troubles access the BD-Live features on this disc?
This makes the second disc that does not work, out of many (to name two that work: 'Casino Royal' & 'Stripper Zombies') where I am able to access the BD-Live features with out any troubles..
Sony support want me to pay shipping back to them for warranty repair when two disc's ('Kung Fu Panda' and now 'Da Vinci Code') are the only ones tested to date which the feature is not connecting up to the online servers?

mail this sticker along with a copy of your receipt for the purchase of this Blu-ray Disc
What if you don't have your receipt.. as the wife also purchased some items which had to be returned and the store kept the receipt!! And until tonight did not think a think about it as all my other 'Sony' BD-Live disc's work...

Does anyone know if the deluxe edition with the cryptex has the movie cash offer as well? There's no sticker on the box.

I know this isn't HD, but think it worth a mention.

Best Buy has a deal right now where with the purchase of selected DVDs you get $10 in moviecash for A&D and a DVD Documentary called Secrets of the Code. The selected DVDs are mostly $9.99, and include titles like The Davinci Code and Philadelphia.

I mailed mine on May 1 and just got it about 10 mins ago.

Just in time to see the movie tonight! ;)

Re: FYI: "The Da Vinci Code/eMovie Cash" redeemed via BD-Live or Snail Mail

Went onto BD-Live for my first time last night on my PS3 using this movie to get the Movie voucher.

I already had a Sony Rewards account from years ago, so just needed to add my login info and I was in.

Successfully got my ticket on the first try. Subsequent tries resulted in something like, "This code has already been redeemed."
