I rented this at Blockbuster and the 3D version is missing. I also can't find the BD-Live features. Was there a "dumbed down" version of this released to rental? I don't see anything on Amazon about 2 versions for sale.

I noticed the DVD version says 3D on the cover but the BD version doesn't. It does mention the BD-Live features on the case though.

Yeah, they might've gotten a special 2d version only so they wouldn't have to deal with the headaches of handling the glasses. They called the Live thing "LG Live" on this disc, but I didn;t get to check it out. There was a live update that took about 10 minutes at the initial playback as well.

The Blockbuster version I saw had the 3D version on it.

I rented this from BB as well, 3-D version was there and they gave me two pairs of glasses when I checked out.

my local blockbuster had this on bluray and regular dvd. the regular dvd was a flip disc, w/ the 2d version on one side and the 3d on the other. the bluray had both versions on the disc. when i clicked play it asked me if i wanted to watch in 2d or 3d.

my blockbuster was actually charging 15 cents for 3d glasses haha

That's weird. They gave me a pair of 3-D glasses as well, but there was definitely no 3-D version on the disc. It never asked me which version I wanted to watch and I went through all the menus several times.

What about the BD-Live features? Did everyone else have those, if you even looked for them?

Starship Troopers is one off the top of my head that's made by Sony and has about 6 seconds messed up when watched on Sony players.

Just because you haven't had a problem doesn't mean it's not real.

I rented this from a local rental. They asked me how many 3D glasses I wanted and didn't charge me a thing for them. The BD had both versions on one disc. Had a great time with this movie.

The Netflix version is the 2D version only without the BD-Live features. Oddly, the menu is still slightly in 3D. Go figure.

That's good to know. I was beginning to think I was going crazy or something. Hopefully rental only discs with missing features won't become more common.

Tonight I saw an ad on TV for this and they were making a big deal of the alternate ending. More like extra 5 seconds to the ending you already saw.
