Blu-ray.com
The Weinstein Company has announced that they will bring 'The Reader' to Blu-ray on April 28th, two weeks after the DVD release. This is the film that recently netted Kate Winslet the Academy Award for Best Actress. Technical specs have not been announced at this time, but you can expect a 1080p VC-1 video presentation along with a lossless/uncompressed soundtrack. Extras include 12 deleted scenes and five making-of featurettes. |

Kinda odd, there must be a reason behind the delay (need more time for production?, contract issue?). If anything, that will hurt Blu-Ray sales...

List price is $34.99. It's nice knowing Weinstein isn't gouging us on new releases like most of the studios.

Very odd considering Weinstein has not done this before with a D&D and only once with a catalog title (Zombie's Halloween).

Bad precident.
If they want Bluray to really take off, they need to reverse that. |
