Re: Alien Anthology - Oct. 26th
The video of the egg packaging on the foxconnect site showed a standard fold out case with discs on hubs. Don't know how old that video is, and they certainly may have changed the design. But you'd think they would have to lock in the size of the case, etc when they made the eggs. Whatever it turns out to be, no matter to me, as long as the damn movies look and sound amazing. . .

Bestbuy.com is likely matching Amazon. Since it's not featured in their ad, I'm sure the in-store price will remain $109.99, so be sure to do in-store pickup or pm when you get there.

Damn, I've been waiting for word on if the BTTF UK set is region free AND has no PAL special features, I'd paid no attention to this until now and, damn, I feel b*tch slapped again.
While the sleeves are not as bad as the BTTF digi design, I'd still rather have hubs. But I probably could live with sleeves because you can be a lot more careful that you can be with the digi cases that need you to push and slide, but I just noticed the posts about the SIGNIFICANT price advantage.
Even though I had some credit at Amazon that makes my price $83, it's still $27 less from Amazon.uk. Hubs and huge savings?? But, I'm not sure I'm willing to take the same gamble with this set as I did with BTTF. Doesn't Fox region lock a lot? And then there's still the chance of PAL special features.
I really hope we start getting some 100% confirmation on both the region free issue and PAL issue for both sets soon. If nothing is reported here by Friday, I might just cancel my order at Amazon.com and wait it out. The UK set is way too good to just pass up unless it's locked or has PAL features. That's how I'm leaning now.
Thankfully, our family is going on vacation just before the end of the month, so we don't need to have this right away. Still would have liked to buy both of these day 1 in the US. Bad design for one. Mildly bad design and way over-priced for the other and the UK wins on both sets.

Someone on the Canadian deals section of Bluray.com is reporting that Best Buy Canada will have this on sale for $79.99 (compared to Future Shop, which is only offering it for $79.99 with the purchase of Predators on BD).
I'm almost tempted to get it at this price, but I'm still going to try to wait till I can get it for $50.

I dunno, I guess so. The Batman box set was about $7 bucks cheaper when it was first released. Just hoping for something lower than the already expensive price they're wanting us to get it for.

Re: Alien Anthology - Oct. 26th
I wrote this in another thread, but I think they should have a discount for Quadrilogy owners (maybe even a trade-in option?). I've already spent 50+ on these movies and just can't justify spending another hundred on essentially the same product (yes, with a bump in picture quality, of course). I think my max on this set is $40 and I'm willing to wait.

What's even more crazy is how reasonable the shipping is all the way from England and I'm still on the fence on the Scream Collection (to bide me over until the eventual release, god knows when, of a US version) because of the $10+ Amazon.ca wants to charge me. That's more than 1/3 of the price of the entire set.

There is a new amazon feature where you can contact amazon and get this changed. You need your order number and then you pick your issue (price), then it gives you some additional choices, including one that says price changed on website. Click on this and then send in a message that the price has decreased $5 for the set, but isn't reflected in your order and that you want it changed ASAP. It's worked perfectly the few times I've used it and it allows me to not have to call and argue with CSR who still want to argue that you should wait for it to ship.
