Wait, wait, wait.

October 26th? The same day as Back to the Future? You have got to be fucking kidding me. Fox wouldn't be so stupid to release this the same day a $50 Trilogy of films is coming out....right? This is beyond stupid. One of the studios needs to move the date at least 2 weeks (ahead or behind).

That egg packaging looks awesome, but it'll probably cost double the regular set

And remember Thanksgiving is just a month later, I bet there will be some nice Black Friday deals on it.

Amazing that were going to get to see the uncut version of "Wreckage and Rage: The Making of Alien3" at last. For that alone this set is going to be worth it.

This appears to be a spectacular release. The Quadrilogy set was one of the most exhaustive DVD sets ever produced, and now this BD appears to be following suit. I'm just amazed that it does indeed appear that all of the Legacy and Quadrilogy DVD extras will be carried over. In one fell swoop, all of the previous iterations I own of these movies should be rendered irrelevant.

This will clear a lot of space on my DVD shelves for more BDs!

Yeah it does, that's what I was hoping for, not the Apple looking white box art. Hopefully there's five slim cases inside.

For those holding out for separate releases, looks like the documentaries will only be in the box set.

Edit: Looks like The Alien Legacy doc didn't make the cut.

I really like that fox is always really good about including the isolated scores on their box sets and various individual release titles. Being a film score fan, the isolated score has always been one of my favorite features going back to dvd days. And sadly its a very under used special feature by most of the studios.

oh and since its now official and we have a release date and pre orders availble can someone either change the title of this thread or start a new one.

Imagine getting Rock Band 3 and all the new instruments too:

RB3 keyboard bundle = $130
Pro Mode Guitar = $150
BTTF = $50
Alien BDs = $98

A grand total of nearly $430 for the day.

I'm hoping for this too, but I'm guessing Fox will go with a multi-disc case like they did with the Die Hard films. Better than the egg packaging I guess, as from the posted pics that one looks like a foldout digipack for the discs themselves.

I know what you mean. My birthday is the 23rd, so maybe I can take some sting out. Plus me and a friend will split RB cost.

re: Alien Anthology - Oct. 26th

I'm very curious about this deleted scene - Deleted Scene: Burke Cocooned

Also, Charles de Lauzirika posted this comment on his Facebook page on just who was involved in putting this set together.

"Associate producer Jon Mefford and editor David Crowther are a couple of Quadrilogy vets who returned for the Anthology. Mike Matessino, who worked on the LD and the first DVD, came back to put together the isolated music tracks under the supervision of Nick Redman. But it was mostly a new team. Associate producer Joan Malloch and ... See Moreproduction coordinator Sung Chae worked with me on the supplements. There was a huge collaboration on the interactive side of things with Troy Benjamin, Adam Vadnais, Dorthe Baker, Raleigh Stewart, Amy Searles and the Trailer Park team. And some fans helped out too, like Willie Goldman, Harry Harris and Andrew David Clark. Not to mention everyone at Deluxe, Lowry, THX, Fox and other companies who contributed. A massive undertaking indeed."

Want this day one, but such a difficult time of year to shell out big bucks for Blus when it's so likely that in one month or two great deals are likely to be plentiful. But do I have the strength to wait AND there's no guarantee it will be discounted heavily.

I'll believe it when I am actually watching it on my TV.

re: Alien Anthology - Oct. 26th

I'm familiar with the troubled history of Alien3, but what is it about an uncut 'Wreckage and Rage' that has people so excited?

re: Alien Anthology - Oct. 26th

CharlieK - I think quite a lot of Fincher's side of the story was left out of the Alien3 documentary in the legacy package. Rumor has it he said some 'not nice' things about Fox that they wouldn't allow to be seen. At least that is my understanding.

Regarding the French packaging - that says TEN discs - 6 blu-ray and 4 SD? Is there a description of all 10 discs? of did I miss that in this thread?
