Nights in Rodanthe (DD5.1 but loaded with Extras) ----> Feb 10th, 2009

No other thread for this...

It's great to see Warner put some exclusive extras on this title (Slip Cover, Alternate Scenes, 3 featurettes, music video and "exclusive BD-Live features") but they included only a DD5.1 track I put it in my player just to make sure...and yep, DD5.1.

Am I the only one who hears "Nights In Rodanthe" sung to the melody of "Knights In White Satin"?

I think I am losing it.

And DD sucks WB. Together their shit must get.

I'm sorry, a slip cover does not count as an extra feature.

I couldn't give less of a crap about this film, but I do have to say a big FU to Warner for STILL not fully embracing lossless audio without exception as all of the other studios have done at this point...seriously, I read how so many people thought Warner had finally turned the corner, and now this BS?

It's a poor defense, but at least they're doing it on this movie, as opposed to a movie someone might actually want to watch.

Some of us like Diane Liane and Richard Gere...and thought they had great chemistry in Unfaithful...

This one seems like not a huge candidate for lossless

But why should it matter whether or not a film is "qualified for lossless" as you are implying, when EVERY other studio is now releasing ALL of their titles with lossless audio, no matter the genre or success of the flicks?

Amusement has a TrueHD track. Every title released on Blu-ray in 2009 should have a lossless - period. I'll give some exceptions to older films, but even Bring There, a 40 year old film, has a 2.0 TrueHD track (oh, and its on a 50GB Disc!)!

I agree that any lossy is a weak effort.

It's a waste, and misses the point of Blu-ray to release titles without lossless audio.

On that note, though, I never intend to see this film so hopefully this will be the last of these poor releases from WB.
