Warner to put out 10 catalogue titles April 7th...

Re: Warner to put out 10 catalogue titles April 7th...
Has anyone watched 2010 yet? From what I've read on blu-ray.com, it appears to be mostly DNR free, which may make it the first non-smoothed WB transfer. I have never seen it, but just bought it at Walmart for $14.96 this morning.

I didn't watch the whole thing (just skipped through it and watched a few scenes here and there), but I found the image quite pleasing! It definitely looked better than the HDNet Movies presentation I saw awhile back....for a 13.99 budget catalog title, I was more than impressed....

Anyone grab Tango & Cash yet? I assume that even if the PQ isn't perfect, it's a HUGE jump from the non-16:9 DVD from the late 90's.

It's ok. Several black scenes...HELLO WB, this is a space movie...had massive posterization. The film looks great when you have light. Otherwise, get ready for posterization. Overall, not bad but could've been better.

It is against my way of living to add someone to my block list, but you are certainly pushing it.

We have now learned that if you have any opinion other than his, then your answer will automatically be "WRONG !!!!!!!"....
Back on topic: Has anyone picked up The Wedding Singer or Final Destination and want to comment on their video/audio quality?

I grabbed only those 2 from the recent wave (may bite on 2010). I took a quick peek at them earlier and found both to be fairly average....Wedding Singer looks like it got hit with the DNR stick a bit though

The colors are nice. A lot more pastels than I remember and flesh-tones are natural.
There's not a lot of amazing detail, but the blacks don't crush either. I can see some DNR and waxiness, but not Patton levels by any means.
There are some white and black speckles/dirt in the overall print (especially early on).
I know this is a simple comedy so most of the sound should be channeled through the front, but the TrueHD track is rather flat. Switching between the DD and TrueHD tracks, I really didn't hear much of difference.
A little disappointed, but for the price point not really surprised either.
