It's no The Thing or even King Kong, but thanks, Universal, for going the distance.

Hey, Raging Bull is coming out the same day, so as far as I'm concerned, anything else is gravy.

As they say...

One for me, one for (the theoretical) "you" (that would want this release).

Universal is releasing the quality titles and I can only hope for more of this calibur. Good to see they are breaking out of the PS3 demographic and releasing some far more artistic choices.

I'm definately with you there, but jeez Universal could have picked from so many other good Van Damme flicks instead of picking his worst movie.
Gimmie Hard Target, Lionheart, Sudden Death, Time Cop...

Not. Kind of.

Yeah, better that Universal considers a Hard Target "Extended Edition" than Street Fighter.

I'll pick this up also, as it was good cheesy fun, but only when the price hits around $15. Also gotta get around to picking up the Universal Soldier BD, and I already have the Timecop HD DVD.

Come on, it's taken me 10 years to say that about this movie.

These guys are releasing this hoping people will buy it when the new Street Fighter comes out. I'm willing to bet people will buy it too.

Sadly, yes. But what will make it really suck is that it stars Kristin Kreuk as Chun Li.

What the HELL! I just bought this from the DVDPlanet sale...the DVD is crap, non-anamorphic though, and it only cost like $6, so I'll get this.

The commentary from the director is pretty old though, I think it's actually from 1994, so it's not retrospective or anything.

At least it's not starring Jessica Biel as Chun Li ... err, now that I mentioned that I am thinking of some of the Chun Li animations from the game and thinking that Biel might have been able to bring more to the role

Considering Kristin Kreuk is half Asian but doesn't really look Asian, they could have said that Chun Li is half Asian but doesn't look Asian and cast Jessica Biel.

I like how your mind works, Yavin.

"You got... paid?"

"I guess you didn't see that, did you?"

"I wanted to face Guile on the battlefield in the purity of unarmed combat. Then I would snap his spine. Ah, the road not taken!" <--- Actually that whole speach by Raul Julia is pure gold.

Street Fighter was the first title in their laserdisc Signature Collection, at the bargain price of $44.95. I don't think anyone bought that either.
