Moonstruck...I haven't seen a Criterion Blu-ray in a long-time (sure i buy the ones i love, but haven't, for reasons i have yet to discern, actually watched them) and I am so sorry I didn't.
Moonstruck is a revelation. It looks so fucking good and sounds so fucking amazing. It is a sublime movie that got a sublime treatment. If anyone who doesn't have this and loves this movie, this is the version to get. Short of 4K, obviously, this movie looks stunning. Absolutely stunning for a 33 year-old movie. Just glorious. I'm going to make it a point to watch more Criterions if the transfers are this fantastic. I saw the movie in a whole new light and loved it all over again.
It is a sublime movie that that gave me chills by the end. Back-ended with Dean Martin's "That's Amore", it was just perfect. The whole movie, i think, is a perfect romantic comedy that transcends decades and i believe it is in and certainly deserves to be in AFI's top 100 or whatever.
I know it was nominated for 6 Oscars and won 3. 3 deserving Oscars for Dukakis, Cher and John Patrick Shanley, the writer. every part, no matter how small, were perfectly cast. Jewison perfectly directed a masterpiece that all rom-com's should aspire to. I hate to even categorize as rom-com, but when it comes down to it, it is and it is absolutely fantastic.
What a movie. Simply joyous that had me smiling, literally, from ear to ear, throughout the entire 1:42 run time, including credits. Just wonderful.
Absolutely and without hesitation...

Started watching Good Omens while we ate dinner, we'll watch more this evening.
Edit: Watched more of it this evening. What a quirky show. Entertaining but quirky.

Tenet...absolutely stunning. i was enthralled from the first minute to the very end. edge of your seat thriller that i bought into hook, line and sinker. sure, i may not have understood it all, but it wasn't as complicated as some made it out to be. i think the last 2 Avengers films actually made me understand it better, as well as, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (but a little less so) But, the whole algorithm thing was not that hard to follow.
John David Washington was just the perfect protagonist and mastered those action scenes so well. i would love to see more of him. this and BlackKklansman are 2 gems and know we will be seeing more because of him and not simply who his father is. he played the action scenes, the spy scenes with such a cool demeanor and poise (especially the last scene at end in the car with Priya), he was perfect. and the rest of the cast were all hits. i knew i recognized Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Ives and he was good as well. And Pattinson sure has shed the Twilight stiffness. though i did also love him in Cronenberg's Cosmopolis. But, he was sublime in this and look forward to seeing what he does with The Batman, though i know he's been in other stuff, like High Life, which i own, but have yet to get to in which he was very well received. but, the reveal of who recruited him was equally perfect.
the whole movie just gripped me and i don't get any of the hate for it. was it a little dense? sure. was it action-packed, fun, with a great villain in Branagh and thrilling like movies of this genre are usually supposed to be? hell fucking yes! imo. i would have loved this in a theater, but even at home for a movie to get me this much makes it even better.
just loved everything about it. solid all the way around and another Nolan winner in my book.

finally watched New Mutants earlier tonight. Not bad for an X-Men movie and it does have a connection to the Logan movie.
Not fond of Illyana being a rude B in the movie but oh well.
