Re: Last BD (or, unrealistically, HD DVD) you watched?
DVDTalk only has the review for the previous disc **1/2 stars for video and ** for audio. The gutter snipes at another forum who fancy themselves as experts are declaring that Universal was over zealous in their attempt to eradicate the distracting coarse grain on the previous disc. They are also upset that the original mono track was not included. I own both discs and watched the "restored" version on a 65" display. As I stated in another thread, this new version is hands down superior in every conceivable way to the original disc. I was in awe over how wonderful it looked. Although a bit soft at times, color, detail and fine grain are present—and gone is the absolutely horrendous edge enhancement that plagued the previous disc. The presentation is film-like and it was thoroughly enjoyable—no more snow storms of grain on the moors. But if years of DVD collecting proves anything, it's that you can't please a community overly populated with malcontents. I sometimes wonder if they even enjoy watching films or just prefer bitching about them. Look, pointing out an obvious blunder is understandable but criticizing a disc that is an overwhelming improvement over the previous disc makes no sense to me. I can totally understand why some studios are eager to get on to a streaming distribution channel and away from these thankless morons. I wonder what these armchair experts will do when they'll have to live with what is made available exclusively via broadcast or streaming. It's no wonder the studios rarely if ever have representatives appear in these and other forums—those days are over largely because of this behavior. Universal should be applauded for revisiting this title even if some don't believe it lives up to the perfection they demand. If you love this film as I do, it would be foolish not to pick it up—especially at $9.99.

I Am Legend (alt cut)...didn't love it the first time but riveted this time. When Sam buys it was incredibly well done. Still think the vampire effects look a little hokey, but solid nonetheless.

I'll See You in My Dreams...very enjoyable. I had a smile the whole time and I needed that. Dannar was fantastic as well as the supporting cast. Rhea Perlman was a little worse for wear. And the 40 year-old Virgin scene was a little out of place. But very nice little movie. And it's about septuagenarians!

Strange but enjoyable. Paul Dano can do no wrong.

Central Intelligence - had seen this in the theater. Loved the dynamic with a slightly flighty, effeminate Rock being the funny one and Hart basically being a manic straight man. This was a rental disc so no extras to report on.

Me Before You was not that bad for being one of those type of movies.
Strange Creed after all these months still has not premiered on HBO yet.
A Bigger Splash. A lot nudity if that that is your bag.
Bachelor Party

Finally finished "The X-Files Season 1." I love having television on disc because some nights you just can't commit to a movie. I never owned this series previously and missed many episodes when it originally aired years ago so I am thoroughly enjoying watching this series in chronological order. Both actors, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson grew tremendously as actors in each subsequent season—David Duchovny was as stale as toast in the beginning. This show really has me wishing that Johnny Depp, who holds the rights to "The Nightstalker" will just produce and convince Brian Cranston to play Kolchak in a big-screen version. Well, time to unwrap "X-Files Season 2."

The Descent...just a brilliant little movie from beginning to end. When she hobbled Juno and left her to die was so perfect. Forgot how much gore this one has. That ending is heartbreaking.

Big Trouble in Little China...forgot how much I liked this one. I always love Kurt in everything he does and this is vintage. So much fun.

The Infiltrator. A good movie. I think Cranston is taking his career to a new level with his film work.
A good companion piece to Narcos
