The original has everything you would want in a B movie. Need to rent the remake at some point, but I'm betting it is missing the massage scene.

Vanishing Point
Not the greatest transfer (especially with lots of EE right off the bat) but still the best the movie has ever looked. Plus, the soundtrack was really good also.

Last night, I started watching Cool Hand Luke, a film I'd never gotten around to seeing.
I'd never really watched a film that old on BR (In all my two weeks since going Blu) and I was impressed with the PQ. Audio was just Full Mono, which was disappointing, but probably to be expected.

Pelican Brief - always liked the movie but at 2:20 tended to drag toward the end. The PQ was good for an older film but not reference quality. AQ was superb.
Men In Black - PQ and AQ was fantastic. Blew away my original DTS copy.

Thunderball
Best Bond film yet, great PQ although I noticed quite a few hairs and fingerprints.

Silence of the Lambs.
This is a film that definitely needs a new master created. However, this BD looks pretty good. There's definitely better detail compared to the 2-disc dvd edition. I didn't think it looked too smooth. Hopefully we'll get a re-release for the film's 20th anniversary in 2011.

Checked out the unrated version of Sex Drive last night. Unlike the usual unrated version that have a few more off-color jokes and some lingering skin shots, this was really more of the producers being goofy. Naked women randomly walking through the shot, breaking the 4th wall, close-ups of naked male running and flopping around. I don't mind the extra boobage but it wasn't one of the better extended versions. They changed dialogue to be more explicit but didn't change the screen so the words and lips didn't match. That and no naked Amanda Crew.
This is one that will stay a rental for me.

Full Metal Jacket OK PQ and AQ but not great. Should have picked up the HD on the cheap instead

Men in Black. Pretty good PQ/AQ. I enjoyed it this time, though not as much as I remember enjoying it in the past. It's still a cute and fun diversion but I haven't decided if I want to keep it or not.

I just watched CJ7, the most recent Stephen Chow film, and WOW... I really didn't expect to love it so much. It was a great film all around. It's right up there for me with Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle now. I would suggest to anyone that likes Stephen Chow to watch this movie. It's got great humor, action, drama, and the story itself is wonderful. I'm just amazed it took me so long to see it. And this film has never really gone on sale -- ever. That's the main reason for my delay. But I snagged a copy for $16 shipped on Half.com. That's the lowest I've ever seen it sell for. Since I wasn't able to see it in the theater that seems like a major bargain. In reflection, though, this would have been a steal at $30.
This film is worth every penny. And for those curious, the picture quality/audio quality was phenomenal.

^ Yeah, I didn't expect to like it either. It was pretty fucked up for a "kids" movie, too.
Friday Night Lights
PQ was very solid and AQ knocked a few pictures off my wall.
