Battle of the Bulge

Good movie, good Blu Ray. There were a few soft focus moments, and some significant flickering, but those moments were VERY brief, and overall the picture quality was outstanding.

I liked the movie itself a lot, too.

Boondock Saints

Good PQ. A teeny bit of EE but nothing overwhelming. Grain is present throughout so no DNR. AQ was also much improved. Watched the Douche's, er, I mean Director's Cut.

Gangs of New York

A great movie, and a better Blu Ray than I expected (given the reviews I've read that said it was over DNR'ed). Yeah, there was some DNR done given the minimal amount of grain, but there was still some grain visible and considering that it is a VERY recent film if there's any grain showing they couldn't have done too much DNR. The colors and detail are really good making this a beautiful Blu Ray to watch.

Dawn of the Dead ('78)
I had only seen this movie once before and have always hated it, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I remember it, besides the SFX which are just as shitty as I remembered. I think this is one of those movies that I will like more with each viewing. It looked pretty damn good on Blu-Ray too IMO.
Now I gotta check out Day of the Dead which i've never seen at all.

It wasn't just the DNR that was distracting but the EE on the disk is ridiculous.

The Mist
Normally I would stay far, far away from anything Steven King related after having wasted 2 hours of my life with the shitfest that is Dreamcather. But gave this one a shot because of all the positive word of mouth around here. It was a pretty good movie, although I much preferred the first half of the movie to the latter portion.
Spoiler:
Once the creatures were revealed the creepy factor was lost and it was just a monster movie. And by the end I felt like I was watching Cloverfield, which isn't a knock on Cloverfield because I love that movie, but if I wanted to watch Cloverfield I would watch Cloverfield.

American Gangster HD love that movie. I'm bummed I have some marks on the disc so it kept skipping and missing. If I can't get it clean I'll either get another HD or get it in BD. I will definately own this movie.

On the BD do they have the extended cut and is it in Hi-Def? The HD disc only has the theatrical in Hi-def.

The Blu-Ray is a much, much better package than the HD-DVD. It has both cuts in HD, as well as all the extras from the 3-Disc Collector's Edition, which came out only on DVD.

HDDVD: T2 - Ultimate Edition (Germermerman) Beat that BD wankers who only have the film as a shitty BD25 mastered in MPEG2. Buy the Japanese BD. OH WAIT. Alot of people are too whiny about wanting to import.

mod note: You've already been warned about your attitude. Posts like this are not welcome here. Your signature has been removed as well, as that too is still inappropriate. -namja
