Even though they both end on a down note, found Bohemian Rhapsody to be far more entertaining. This was good but long and depressing. Guardians Of The Galaxy 1 and 2 - repeat viewings for both. A real Bradley Copper weekend without realizing it. I guess I should watch some Hangover movies tonight to really get my fill https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...151c4a05ca.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/dvdtalk...0212091cff.jpg Bale could make a guy with a bad combover look cool. |

Recent upgrade to Blu from HD. This is hokey but it was from when Cage still made some watchable stuff. Always felt this would have been good material for a TV series. Guy with ESP can see what will happen for up to two minutes in the future and is exploited by a government agent trying to avoid a terrorist attack. |

A little disappointed in this. Not bad. But really didn't offer anything new. Really more about the celebs, Schrager and Rubbell than the club itself. Stick to the youtube docs. They'll give you most of the same info unless you need every possible nugget. |

Not really all that enjoyable in the dystopian / mutant kids world. |

Saw this in the theater and enjoyed it immensely. Had to show the wife. The extras had nice interviews with adoptive families and the kids. |

Not sure you can call this a slow burn since there is never any sort of suspense, action or exciting finale. Slow and plodding is more like it. |

This has some entertainment value. I would give it a 2.5 / 5. There were some funny moments and it wasn't a complete waste of time. It was however obviously low budget. Phoebe Fox and the UK actors were the highlight. One glaring deficiency; usually actors will endure months of fight training to make fight scenes look real. Tom Cruise insists on doing all his own stunts. Either Rockwell does no fighting, or the editing was extremely poor since his fights always featured extreme close-ups of the kick, or the punch, or the elbow often times leaving the actors face out of the shot entirely. This means stunt doubles did all the heavy lifting and it was obvious. |

I'm 0 for 3 this weekend. This was not very good. Pretty boring actually. Neil Armstrong had some interesting life experiences but his life was not worthy of the focus of this movie. A lot of him fighting with his worried wife. The moon landing did bring back that summer night 50 years ago when the entire world was enthralled and that was fairly well done. The producers chose not to show the planting of the American Flag which I thought was a missed opportunity. We were in the middle of the cold war. The entire moon landing was the culmination of the space race with Russia. This was meant to be a big middle finger to Russia. "See we beat you there." With Russia being the focus of much ire these days not sure why they chose to be so PC. Political rant aside. Unless you are a space nerd that loves every minute of it, or has to see Gosling in every thing he does, this is a rental at best. |

Hey everybody ! During the format wars I thought the HD-DVD was going to win over Blu-ray because it just looked and sounded better to me, still does, and I preferred the red case over the blue case...just looked better to me. Blu-ray didn’t make any sense to me , since DVD was the previous format it just made sense that HD-“DVD” would be the logical next step as the new format. I still have no idea how blu-ray one. Was it porn? In the comedy movie ‘Tropic Thunder’ one of the characters said bluray won out because bluray was backed by the porn industry, lol. It makes sense though, the porn industry is massive and has its slimy tentacles all over the rest of entertainment industry. Anyway I have two HD-DVDs ‘Dune’ and ‘The Manchurian Candidate’ ( Denzel Washington version ). THE LAST MOVIE I WATCHED WAS ON HD-DVD AND IT WAS ‘DUNE’, it looked and sounded amazing! I saw, and still see, no difference between HD-DVD and Bluray on my high-def TV ...well to be honest I think my HD-DVDs looked and sounded a little better then all the blurays I own. |
