The Thing (1982) - Masterpiece
The Thing (2011) - Nice tie-ins to the '82 version but otherwise a completely mediocre and unnecessary film.

The Beyond - Arrow did a fantastic job on this release; it looks gorgeous, and the soundtrack is solid.

Bite the Bullet. Terrific film and beautiful transfer. Before that it was War Horse.

After these last two, it occurred to me I have a few other horse-themed movies lying around. Maybe I should have a mini-festival.

Sid & Nancy - I hate The Sex Pistols, but I thought the move was great and Oldman's performance was nothing short of brilliant.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - This one looked and sounded phenomenal. Brought back memories of watching this in the theatre.
Ong Bak 3 - Horrible! What the hell happened to Tony Jaa? I barely got through the whole movie and even the fighting scenes didn't get me excited. Stay away from this movie at all cost!!!
Despicable Me - This is one of my favorites but it was my first time watching it on Blu-ray. Good PQ and AQ!

Princess Bride Daughter is home from college and she picked one of her favorites
The Thing 2011 It was OK but not enough different from the original to make it worthwhile
In Time Thought this was pretty stupid. Can't believe they could recitye those lines with a straight face

The Good, The Bad, The Weird

Fun film. Loved the appearance of "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" in the soundtrack of the film.

Immortals -- great PQ, mediocre story -- 6/10
The Goonies -- first time I've ever seen this. Why is this so popular? 6/10
Kick-Ass -- 7.5/10 -- was not expecting much, but really enjoyed this.

Saw this in the theater and enjoyed it. Visited it on DVD and found I couldn't stand it. Tossed the DVD.
