Do you simply have to have a Sony credit card to enjoy those benefits, or do you actually have to use it?

I'd guess the former, but I can't say for sure.

I use mine once a year and keep all the rewards benefits. Pretty easy way to get free blu rays. I have received three in a year so far and have over 8000 points right now.

Thanks for the tips. Good to know.

re: Sony launches BD Rewards program (update: DEAD)

I have a sonyrewards account but can't seem to link my ps3 to it to register BR Live disks. I created an account, but it didn't seem to take. I used the same user/password as my sonyrewards site. Do I need to use my PSN account ID or something? I'm afraid that it'll register with to some non-account. Any suggestions?

What if I have a Sony disc that doesn't have a BD-Live feature? Am I S.O.L.? The disc in question is Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Yes, the disc must have BD-Live. A few of the early BD-Live discs will also not work for the rewards program. You'll go to register and it'll say "THIS DISC HAS ALREADY BEEN REGISTERED." That happened to me with Walk Hard (Sony's first BD-Live title). I believe I've heard of it happening with In the Line of Fire, too. There are others that I can't recall at the moment.

That's pretty lame. Thanks for the quick response though. Is there a comprehensive list anywhere of titles that work, or is this pretty much the best we'll find? http://www.sonypictures.com/homevide...s.html#content

Thanks again.

I can't recall a list but anything released in '09 or '10 should work. I know that the Casino Royale re-release works and that came out October '08. Are there any titles you're wondering about at the moment?

So, no problem with my first 450 points but now no iteration of my standard login will work and if I e-mail sony rewards they just send a form e-mail about resetting that websites password.

Am I SOL?

The Sony Rewards program is ending. https://www.playstationlifestyle.net...d-ending-date/

According to the other site, it looks like you can't get Movie Buff points anymore. You can still redeem your passes if you have free movies still on your account:

If you misplaced your email, you can find the codes for your already-earned Movie Buff passes by logging into rewards.sony.com, clicking on "My Account" in the upper-right corner. Then click "Points Activity" on the left side, and in that list, click on any activity that says "Reward" right above a "Pass" entry. It will give you your Movie Buff Reward code. This code can be input at either redeem.sonypictures.com or directly into Movies Anywhere redemption for one of the above movies.

Check your email. They sent me a free movie code. I apparently had a Movie Buff in progress and they completed it for me and as thank you.

I had only use my Sony Rewards account to get the free movies, but I logged in and had enough points to get $35 in PlayStation gift cards. Make sure you check your account before the program shuts down. They have all kinds of electronics (head phones and TVs), gift cards, and digital movies that you can redeem your points for.

I had a movie buff and a movie ticket one in progress. Yet didn't receive an email where they completed it.

Re: Sony launches BD Rewards program (update: DEAD)

Cashed out my points and got some gift cards.
Got the in progress email code then I went through my rewards on the app and found 6 Movie Buff codes that still worked (or re-worked). Split between this current list, and some from another list.
