The $32 price is what drove me to get the CE ($42.99), since I wanted the free poster they were offering

I read somewhere that it was ok to send the price tag but wasn't entirely sure. I bit my lip and cut off the bar code from the back and mailed it yesterday. Good thing it has a slip cover otherwise it would bug the crap out of me! (it does bug me :X) Thanks though. :)

I have a spare BD case I'm going to put the movie in with a custom cover. Two birds with one stone. Gets rid of the disc stacking and horrible artwork.

I was thinking of doing the same - let me know if you find (or create) a customer cover (or even find the original coverart which can be printed). I'd like to keep it in with the rest of my BD's, but the SE packaging won't work.

You know, I did some quick searching earlier and only found some for the DVD, no BD covers. I haven't done a cover in a long while. I may have to tackle it.

It just seems rare that I actually want what is being offered. I think the last one I got was the Blade Runner briefcase (which was awesome) but I just don't care about a cheap book with a few photos and some cheap plastic figurine anymore.

After price matching Sears, I feel much better about my purchase.

For those of you considering picking up the Limited set over the standard Blu-ray due to the crappy artwork, I'd go in-store and check out the art for the standard set first. The entire area around McAvoy and Jolie that looks Photoshop-blurred to the max is actually a muted, slick matte-type finish on the cardboard slip, while the bullet and lettering are raised and have an embossed kind of feel about them. It's nowhere near as bad as the concept art makes it look (the coverart, which sadly still looks blah), which sold me on getting the cheaper standard set.

Granted, there's no fiberglass/acrylic casing or stills and such, but for the price conscious out there it's definitely a fairly slick looking regular get-up.

Thanks for posting this little blurb, SIUmark! Went to Wal-Mart tonight for some grocery action, took the Sears online ad with me, and PMed for $19.99.:up:

Something cool happened that's never really occurred for me at Wally World before -- I took the ad for matching and the clerk said that she couldn't match online-printed materials, but she then said that she'd go check the catalog of ads they have in-store. Lo and behold, she came back with the Sears ad and voila. :)

gryffinmaster, glad I could help.

I received the LE in the mail today from Amazon. Beautiful set. As for the stacking discs, BDs are scratch resistant so theoretically it shouldn't be a problem.

So is the second disc in the set just a Digital Copy DVD?

I bought the Gift Set yesterday and was thinking of throwing out the Digital Copy DVD after I put it on my computer.

So... any ideas about the binary code input that's hidden in the menu? :) I'd guess they're for Easter Eggs?

Though with the quality of the Universal discs I've purchased so far, I'm still hesitant. I was tempted to buy the LE set, but it's just too much $$$. Not only that, but it seems that only the Universal discs I've bought recently have had QC issues. All three discs in the Horror Starter Pack (Dawn of the Dead, Land of the Dead, and The Thing) had some degree of smudgy fingerprinting going on underneath (Dawn being the worst); and my recently opened copy of Hellboy II has a plethora of smudginess going on on the data side as well. It's so bad it's turned me off (to a certain degree) of buying Universal BDs in the near future ...
