Batman Anthology Blu-Ray Pre-order
Does anyone know what the situation is regarding pre-ordering the Batman Anthology Blu-Ray set?
The release date is 3/10/09, yet Amazon and even the WB store site does not have it available for pre-ordering.
Barnes and Noble and Deep Discount had it available for ordering, but removed it from their sites a few days ago. Has the set been delayed?

No one knows yet...oddly enough a bunch of websites don't even have it listed yet and rumor is that Warner may push it back to June.

i'm thinking about ordering mine via CDwow ($51.99 shipped), but i've got a handful of "backordered" stuff. If/once that gets cleared up, i'll order it.

Re: Batman Anthology Blu-Ray Pre-order
Considering it is not even up at Warner's own store for pre-ordering, I really can't see this making the 3/10 date, as they typically allow for pre-orders much longer than only three and a half weeks.....
Look how far in advance some of those other catalog titles were announced, like 2010 and what not....hell, just a day or two ago, they announced Costner's Robin Hood and True Romance, both due in late MAY and they are already up for pre-order at Amazon and Warner Video, etc.....

Borders actually has it up for pre-order. Their price sucks of course. They charge your credit card/gift card at the time that you place the order, so be forewarned.

Re: Batman Anthology Blu-Ray Pre-order
They're NTSC and pretty much the same as the 2-disc SD DVDs as far as I can tell.
Note though that once again they aren't flagged properly for anamorphic widescreen display (at least I think that's the problem) so the PS3 doesn't show most of the extras in the proper aspect ratio. Most of my Blu-rays are like that and typically I avoid watching the extras because of it, it's a really pathetic restriction but it helps keeping me from buying more titles I guess

I'm sure if I want to buy these or not. I like the 2 Burton fioms but not enough to pay for the other 2 (horrid) Batman movies. I'm undecided on whether or not I want these.

Now coming in May (or March - conflicting dates)!

Warner has unleashed the full details of its 'Batman' anthology Blu-ray box set, which arrives this May with five discs and multiple hours of bonus features.
As previously reported, Warner announced a March 10 street date for 'Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology,' the five-disc set contains all four of the Batman films made from 1989-1997, including 'Batman,' 'Batman Returns,' 'Batman Forever' and 'Batman & Robin.'

The studio has now confirmed final specs, which will see each film receive its own BD-50 dual-layer presentation, with 1080p/VC-1 video and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround audio.
Extras are extensive and match the previous DVD release of the 'Anthology.' Consistent among each film is an audio commentary with its respective director, documentary galleries, character profiles, and theatrical trailers. Also spread across all four films in the set is the multi-part "Shadows of the Bat: The Cinematic Saga of the Dark Knight" documentary.
Also included on 'Batman' is the featurette "On the set with Bob Kane," a cut storyboard sequence, and three music videos from Prince.
'Batman Returns' boasts an additional featurette ("The Bat, The Cat and the Penguin"), and a Siouxie and the Banshees music video.
'Batman Forever' features additional cut footage (presented as an extra) and a music video.
Finally, 'Batman & Robin' also includes additional footage as an extra, and four music videos.
Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $129.95.
You'll find the latest specs for 'Batman: The Motion Picture Anthology' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it's indexed under March 10.

Love the MSRP, Warner. Good to know the studios are planning to rape us this year on Blu-ray.

Yeah, that SPR is pretty high ($32.48 per BD) for 4 catalogue titles... I'd say it should be at around $99.96 ($24.99 per) and then with Amazon's discounts could get down to $60-70.

$75 is still way too much for 1 great film, 1 decent film and 2 crap ones. Unless this is $50 or less I'm not biting.

Watching George Clooney and the Governator embarrass themselves for a couple of hours might be worth $15.
Also, Uma Thurman in HD is never a bad thing.

Re: Batman Anthology Blu-Ray Pre-order
This has to be the most confusing cluster-f of any release this year....Warner releases a date (3/10) at the beginning of this year, but not the exact details....then as we get closer to said date, many major places are still not taking preorders...next, they release an ad for an individual digi-book release of the first one before ever shoring up the box set details....now they give us the specifics but still don't tell us the actual true date?? If it does actually come out in two weeks, that will be both very odd and impressive....
