I'm not quite sure what to think of that...That small case for 5(+) discs...it felt pretty damn tight to me. Oh well, not much one can do about it anyway.

I finally got it to work, but I have no idea why it worked (it shouldn't have). I had already created an account (could log into other Disney sites and everything), but I went in on the BD-Live site and registered a new account anyway (but I used all of the same information, including email address, of my existing account). This time it let me on through to Step 4 (Age Verification).

So somehow I created an entirely new account using the same email address, but this one is now part of the BD-Live Network. I would not want to see their database.

yeah I've been having problems with the BD live signup too. The "birthdate" thing is stuck on "01/01/01" and there is no way to change it or to continue. Then when I tried to access the BD live features just to see if it would load, it said "BD Live is not available in your area"

However, the log in screen worked for Sleeping Beauty. This is getting annoying.

I have not encountered this problem before. What browser are you using? I'm assuming that it's just Disney DVDs you're having an issue with.

WDSHEREP 11-19-08 05:52 PM

If you are continuing to have issues you can contact Disney Technical Support at 1-800-723-4763.

I used both Firefox and Internet Explorer. But yeah, I've been able to access BD Live with The Fall and Forgetting Sarah Marshall (side note for this one, is it possible to DL the content, or can I only stream it?), so it's only a problem with Disney DVDs.

Update: The site ended up working, so I'm up and running!

My sister wants to buy the 3 disc Blu-Ray version. But does anyone know if disc 3 will play in your normal DVD player? She plans to go blu within a year.

Michael Corvin 11-20-08 07:19 AM

No it won't.

gryffinmaster 11-20-08 02:17 PM

I know a lot of people are probably purchasing this through the various sales right now, but is anyone else noticing the immense lack of these in-store? Went to both Target and Wal-Mart within the past two days for various items, and neither had the 3-Disc Wall-E BD -- while Target had no Wall-E Blu at all.

The digital copy will play on a computer or Ipod or on a television via ipod.

Every major chain I've been in (Best Buy, Future Shop, HMV) has ample supply of the 2-disc Blu-ray. I did however notice that the 3-disc Blu-ray was a lot more limited ... I've only seen it in stock at Best Buy and Future Shop the first day it was released (and in substantially less numbers than the 2-disc), but it's been M.I.A. since then.

I'm not sure if it's just because Target didn't order much Wall-E on blu, but it seems to be sold out at every one of them. WalMart and Best Buy had the 2-disc, but I keep hoping that someone will get some of the 3-disc restocked so I can pick it up.

NiCK Crush 11-20-08 04:21 PM

i got my 3-disc on release day at Best Buy, but since then, I havent seen many copies, if any, anywhere of the 3-disc.

Mr. Salty 11-20-08 04:32 PM

I had to go hunting at Wal-Mart for the three-disc. There were none on the massive display in the aisle. I had to go to the actual Blu-ray section, and even there they only had three copies. You really had to look closely.

Well, that's just GREAT. -rolleyes-

Why in the WORLD would they make it so you couldn't use it like let's say...on a portable DVD player?

-For THEEK's sake!

Drexl 11-20-08 05:54 PM

They generally don't want to pack in a DVD, because then you could sell it or give it to someone who could otherwise buy it. They did pack one in with Sleeping Beauty though, and it looks like Pinocchio will have one.

Of course, there's nothing to stop someone from selling or giving away the digital copy, but I imagine it wouldn't fetch as much as a DVD.

I think they're also trying to discourage people from ripping discs by providing a way to legally watch the movie on a portable device.

The Edit King 11-20-08 05:59 PM

Okay. I get it.

Don't like it, but I get it.

Thanks for the quick response Drexl. I appreciate that.

anyone have a link to the 3 disc version on deepdiscount, i cont figure out which of the 2 over there is the 3 discer.
What a horrible experiance I've had ordering this from DeepDiscount. It couldn't be more confusing to order the 3 disc on their site. I ended up ordering the incorrect one (2-disc, called them emmediatly and they said they couldn't cancel it, keep in mind it hadn't shipped yet. Also, the version i got (2 disc) says it contains a digital copy.

http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewprod...uctId=50320180

go to special features and scroll down to see it says "Disney file digital copy"

I won't be ordering from them again

Wife picked up the 3-disc from Wal-Mart yesterday.

I just went to the page for BD, and they have both of them right there. It seems to me that all you have to do is look for the one that says "why pay $40.95?" The one you linked to says "why pay $35.95?" Remember, the one with the DC has an MSRP of $5 more.

I am guessing that originally they were going to include the DC in all of them like they did for The Nightmare Before Christmas, and DD didn't update all of their info.

fumanstan 11-21-08 04:23 PM

Can't you just return it after you get it?

PalmerJoss 11-21-08 05:12 PM

Just picked up the 3-disc from Newbury Comics for $35.99. No other stores in my area had it, so it was worth paying the extra few bucks.

firteen88 11-21-08 06:01 PM

Yes, I'm gonna return it when I get it. Shipping status says it should be delivered on 12/1!! I shoulda just bought it at a damn store for a little more

[QUOTE=fumanstan;9064068]I thought Kung Fu Panda was far more funny, although Wall-E was more sweet and touching. Both are great to me.

Both are great indeed. I would say Kung Fu Panda is more like what we call a popcorn movie (which are very entertaining) and Wall-E is like an Oscar caliber movie.

Subgeniusguy 11-26-08 07:13 AM

My copy of Wall-E 3-disc BD from Amazon has two copies of disc 1 with no disc 2. I haven't seen anyone else with the same complaint. Thought I would throw this out there so anybody putting off watching the film might be encouraged to check their copy.

E Unit 11-26-08 07:31 AM

I checked my 3 disc set I got from Amazon, and all's well. No repeat discs for me. Hopefully it should be easy for you to get the second disc replaced. Disney has a pretty good program setup for replacements.

I've already requested a replacement from Amazon. That's one reason I'm glad I ordered from them. They are good about accepting returns. My replacement is estimated to be here Dec 4. The kids watdhed the film last night so they probably won't be interested in seeing it again for a while. Popped in what I expected to be Disc 2 this AM to check out the extras and discovered it was Disc 1. Both discs are labelled Disc 1 as well. I just never bothered to look at the labelling on the discs. I have at least 2000 DVD and HD discs and this has never happened to me before. I'm glad yours is OK and hope this is not widespread.

Anyone had any playback issues with the movie? I just watched it on my Sony BDP-S300 that has the latest firmware and it froze up on me twice. I had to turn off the machine and restart the movie where it froze.

Not a single issue on my S550 or LG 200.

Nothing on my PS3

fumanstan 12-08-08 11:13 AM

Didn't have a problem watching it on my Samsung P1500.

RichardW 12-08-08 12:43 PM

Well, looks like I'm not the only one having problems with Wall-E and the S300.

Sorry for the bump, but I'm just getting around to viewing my copy.

Anyway, am I the only person annoyed by the fact that you can't listen to the commentary by changing audio tracks? I really hate having to go back to the menu, as I sometimes like to switch between commentary tracks and the actual movie soundtrack (especially on repeat viewings). I really would have preferred an approach similar to Sleeping Beauty, where you could listen to the audio commentary by switching tracks, and then go to the menu if you wanted the actual "CineExplore" experience.
