Sweeeeeeet! From Dusk Till Dawn and Sin City --> but not coming out in the US!

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh...r_October/2002

Finally a properly-done From Dusk Till Dawn! And Sin City in HD had better be demo material.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if that full-length documentary Full Tilt Boogie from the 2-disc Collector's Series DVD of FDTD isn't included, so I'm hanging onto my SD-DVD until specs are announced.

I find it ironic that FDTD is still non-anamorphic.

Damnit, you beat me to it. I would have posted this news sooner but the search function seems down and I don't want to incur the rage of the search tool Gods.

I saw portions of Sin City on a HD channel a few months ago and it looked really nice. The black and white and the contrast should really shine through in HD. If I had to choose between the Sin City and the From Dusk Till Dawn release, I'd probably go with FDTD. That movie is some good gory fun and I don't have it on DVD either.

I posted this in the release thread, but I might as well post it here as well. Looks like Sin City is not coming out on 10/21 after all, according to The Digital Bits:

While we're on the subject of Buena Vista, there have been a lot of reports around the Net that the studio is planning to release Sin City on Blu-ray Disc on 10/21. That's a big negatory, folks. We've checked with the studio and have officially learned that the title has been pushed back into 2009, along with Finding Nemo. Just so you know... you know?

From Highdefdigest.com:

UPDATE 08/15/08: We've received word from Disney that despite retailer reports, the studio has now pushed back the Blu-ray release date for 'Sin City' to sometime in early 2009. We've updated our database accordingly.

We better get the far superior sequels to "From Dusk Till Dawn" as well.

I won't be shocked if Sin City arrives the same day as The Spirit BD.

Outstanding! I have the über Sin City collectors edition on DVD, but this will definitely get queued up a "re-buy" for me.

I hope so... I thought the third one was OK, but other than the original, they are pretty bad IMO.

We can put them next to the Starship Troopers trilogy!

Actually I kinda liked Dusk 3, but 2 was horrible.

Will definitely buy both Dusk and Sin City, whenever they're released on BD. Hopefully Dusk will include the documentary, but I'll hang on to my DVD until I get the BD.

I know I'm in the minority, but I liked 2 better than 3.

TDB wasn't clear, I hope this doesn't mean FDTD pushed to 09 as well. If it is some sort of Spirit-coattailing then I guess that makes sense.

Oh hell yeah, I can wait on Sin City, but hopefully From Dusk til dawn is still coming on 10/21. That will be awesome to have right before Halloween.

We all know that Sin City was pushed back to early 2009, but does anyone know if we will still see FDTD on 10/21?

I hope so. I'm more excited about FDTD than I am for Sin City.

Not sure if From Dusk Till Dawn would look as "demo" material in HD. For some reason I remember Robert R. doing a more gritty tone to the movie, which could look bad in HD. In any case, it will be interesting to have it on Blu-ray anyway.

From non-anamorphic DVD to High Definition Blu-ray should be one of the greatest upgrades we'll see on the format.
