Band of Brothers Blu-ray on 11/11/08

HBO Video has announced the Blu-ray release of Band of Brothers for the 11th of November, priced at around $99.98. Amazon has it up for preorder at $69.95 with same street date. Box art is up at tvshowsondvd.com

According to DVDActive, the UK release has the following, so I hope we are getting the same:

DTS-HD Master Audio
All Ten, One-Hour Parts of the Epic Miniseries
Interactive Field Guide Including Soldier Bios, Historical Timeline, Map, Chain of Command and Glossary
Picture-in-Picture Video Commentary for All Ten Episodes
'We Stand Alone Together in the Company of Men' (80 Min Documentary)
Behind the Scenes: The Making of Band of Brothers (Ron Livingston’s Video Diaries)
Who’s Who: The Men of Easy Company
Premiere in Normandy and Menu-Based Photo Gallery

Big question is, will it include more of the behind the scenes footage shot by Ron Livingston, or just the bootcamp stuff from the original DVD?

The DTS soundtrack on the BoB DVD is fantastic. There isn't a 15-20 minute section of continuous wall-to-wall sound like the beginning of SPR, but there are many very intense spots. The sounds when shells are exploding in the Bastogne episodes are very intense. There is one scene where I know a shell is about to hit and I still jump out of my seat every time I hear it. Easily one of the very best soundtracks on a DVD that I have.

Tempting? Hell, for me it's a no-brainer. I rewatch this series at least once a year, and I remember when you were lucky to find the DVD set for less than $70.

BobSolo, thank you, thank you for the coupon code.

Happy to share. I'm the same, we have a yearly one day BoBathon in my house. I can't wait to get this and see/hear it at 1080p/24 and DTSMaster.

My problem is that I bought this on DVD a few years back, but still haven't seen the whole thing. I want to upgrade and watch it on Blu-ray. Guess I should sell the other edition.

I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this yet - I love the series and have the DVD's but haven't rewatched it or felt the need to rewatch it...um...ever. So if I picked up the BD's, I might watch it once but probably won't get much use out of it - too many other movies/shows to watch.
