Yeah... you can't compare the BDs and the DVDs.

Especially the first movie (which I always thought had a rather shitty DVD transfer) the rise in detail, clarity, and colors is amazing. I'd say the first film is one of the best non-CGI BD transfers I have in my 150 disc collection.

Well I told my parents to buy the BD trilogy for me for my birthday this Sunday, plus my dad agreed to buy my (6 disk) DVD trilogy off me for $25. So I think I made out pretty good on the deal. :)

The box set offered nothing new over the individual releases. At the time I brought the individual releases I got them for a average of 10 each. Those deals wouldn't be possible with a new box set...at least not for a while.

I sold my DVD's for 30 bucks. They all had slipcovers and 2 and 3 came with a Best Buy bonus disc (8 discs total). The upgrade was worth it to me. Especially for the first movie which had a somewhat murky DVD transfer. The BD looks great.

I just told my dad that people are paying $25-26 shipped for the same set as mine on ebay, and he offered to give me that much for them. Saves me the trouble and fees. :)

Yes, the BD does look outstanding! I love the first film, too.
