Great to see them getting released, but raising the price? Why?

I'll still pick them up, but I'll definitely be looking/waiting for the best deal I can find.

clckworang 06-13-08 01:09 PM

I'm completely on board for these, even though I realize that this means I'm probably going to be buying the Japanese release that is sure to follow for the uncut version and then buy it again when the Whole Bloody Affair gets released (if that ever happens in BD's lifetime ...).

Bill Geiger 06-13-08 01:12 PM

I really hope they do away with the black and white and show it the way it should be shown.

Josh-da-man 06-13-08 01:18 PM

Pass.

Just picked up the 1 & 2 DVDs on sale at Circuit City for $4.99 each. I'll wait until the uncut/complete versions are released.

And they wonder why people aren't buying catalog titles on Blu-ray.

PixyJunket 06-13-08 01:26 PM

YES!

I don't mind the theatrical cuts, but the price.. ouch.

bunkaroo 06-13-08 01:27 PM

Not crazy about the pricing at all, but if they both contain $10 rebates for DVD owners, I'll bite. But the fact Signs didn't include a rebate does not encourage me.

What is up with Buena Vista? They go from 29.99 list catalogs with rebates to 34.99 list catalogs without rebates. Thanks a lot BV.

Hammer99 06-13-08 01:31 PM

Excellent news, WOOO-HOOOO!!!! I am glad they are the theatrical cuts, and the price on these titles doesn't bother me at all.

Gizmo 06-13-08 01:31 PM

Another price increase?

RoboDad 06-13-08 01:38 PM

Yep. If I can find a deal similar to the National Treasure deal that Amazon had, I will bite. Otherwise, I'll be waiting for a B1G1 or other similar deal. $35 for a catalog title is just too much.

candyrocket786 06-13-08 01:40 PM

Hopefully, Japan will get an uncut BD release.

redbill 06-13-08 01:41 PM

what's increasing where? all disney releases are $34.99

That's a good point - there probably will be a 2-pack offer similar to NT1/NT2 at Amazon. Still doesn't make the list price any better though.

Oliver Clothesoff 06-13-08 01:44 PM

Kill Bill 1 is one of the best looking upconverted DVDs on my HD-XA1... cannot wait for these.

Moopher 06-13-08 02:02 PM

I dont even care, I will buy every version. This is my favorite movie. Best news I've heard in a while

Mr. Cinema 06-13-08 02:10 PM

I guess BD prices are going up, along with everything else in the US.

I'll try once more. I'm pretty sure ALL disney releases are and always have been $34.99 msrp.

Searching around for a few recent Disney catalog titles, Amazon lists the MSRP of Crimson Tide, The Rock, and Remember the Titans as $29.99. Same for King Arthur and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. On the other hand, Dinosaur was $34.99, along with the first Chronicles of Narnia. Still, I do think of $29.99 as being their standard price for catalog titles.

No that's not true.

Up until May 2008, pretty much all Disney/BV catalog titles were listing for 29.99.

Now, the day and dates have been listing consistently for 34.99, which is actually better than many other studios' day and date prices (I'm looking at you Uni, Fox and Paramount).

RichC2 06-13-08 02:25 PM

I want my whole bloody affair :(

redbill 06-13-08 02:25 PM

all 34.99 here: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/disneybluray.html

Raul3 06-13-08 02:32 PM

I'm in.
I'll add both versions to my collection of Kill Bill discs.

Look more closely. The Rookie and Remember the Titans are both listed at $29.99. That's very, very far from a complete list, and some of the titles listed at $29.99 at Amazon aren't listed on there at all.
