Anybody Own The Ronin UK BD??

Xploited has this and I would love to have this in my collection, but its a bit pricey at $44.95

http://xploitedcinema.com/catalog/ro...y-p-13851.html

Is there a planned US release of this?

Is it worth the price? Is the picture quality good? Sound? Looks like there are no extras which is a shitter.

That's the Japanese release.

I have it and it looks decent, but not spectacular. I'm assuming the US version will look exactly the same.

Oops my error, the description says USA/UK so I thought it was that.

Stock Status: In Stock
$44.95
Director: John Frankenheimer
Label: MGM
Genre: Action
Country: UK / USA
Year: 1998

Anyways no bid deal.....decent but not spectacular huh, is it worth importing or should I just wait for the US release?

I imported it back in December because the US release got cancelled but I would just wait and save $20 if the release date is soon.

US release will be the exact same disc PQ, AQ and extras wise.

I'm a sucker for getting import BD releases and spending more money instead of being patient, knowing that those titles will be released in the US eventually (namely Starship Troopers).

I also got the Ronin Japan version fm Xploited Cinema. Not complaining a lot as I liked the film and though not an authority in PQ/AQ, I personally thought the quality was great.

The last I had heard was it was suppose to be annouced for release in conjunction with Father's Day promotion....but I have yet to see anything from retailers or promos that says that information is accurate.

I placed an order with Amazon UK for this title. Since we hadn't seen a US annoucement...decided not to wait (hoping)

Since I was ordering a couple other r2 titles too (Mother of Tears and Run, Fat Boy, Run)...it was cheaper vs buying those same titles from Tony (sorry Tony).

Net delivered equaled $77. Backing out the other two titles..Ronin alone shipped would have been appox. $32 (minus VAT) + $10 shipping....spreading that shipping cost of $10 over three items made more sense placing the order with Amazon.

Careful, according to this website the UK version is Region Locked:

I was so about to get this one but like Copper Blue said, per that site, it's a no-go for US players.

FUDGE....I got thrown off my xploited's listing as the UK/US release. Oh, well. Lesson learned. I guess I'll be shipping it back for an Amazon refund.

Run, Fat Boy, Run and Mother of Tears are the SD versions, which can play on my region free player.

I can confirm that the UK version is region locked (region B) as is The Crow UK BD.
