10,000 B.c. Blu-ray - 6/24/08

Warner Home Video has announced that they will release the action blockbuster '10,000 B.C.' for Blu-ray on June 24th, day-and-date with the DVD release. Video will be presented in 1080p VC-1 accompanied by a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Extras include an alternative ending and additional scenes not seen in theaters.

Exclusive to the Blu-ray release will be two features: "A Wild and Wooly Ride" and "Inspiring an Epic".

This should be maximized for BD...right?

Maximized how? Has Warner ever used a DTS MA track before (I know Newline has)?

Personally I'll probably rent this film. I heard nothing but bad reviews. If this goes for the I Am Legend price ($18.99) I'll bite.

$18.99 or less seems about right for this movie since the only thing worth watching is Camilla Belle and they slightly ruin the experience by having her wear Brandon Routh's contacts from Superman Returns. Otherwise, the movie is a rental at best.

Maximized as being encoded strictly for the BD release. I'm guessing so since this will be one of the first BD only releases from them.

a longer cut? I don't think the addition of any more footage would be beneficial.

Anyone thinking of a blind buy should definitely rent it. Emmerich flicks are a guilty pleasure of mine, but even if I could BUY this one for $5, I'd have to pass.

This would be one of the first Theatrical films from Warner (The Bucket List and Fools Gold come about before).

Spoiler:
It sucks the sabercat only got two scenes given it was one of the better elements of an overall mediocre film.
