La Vie En Rose on Blu-Ray (Canadian Edition)

Does anyone have the Canadian edition of La Vie En Rose in Blu-ray? I'm wondering if it's worth ordering (loved the movie).

I know it doesn't have English subtitles but that's fine since I speak French.

Thanks!

ouch! bad literal translation of "must be nice"

I suspect a fish?

back to the question, I heard the transfer was quite bad but if you don't have a problem with only a french track, get the France release, remember though, the original title is "La mome"

I've read the French version does not have subtitles for the songs, which apparently the US DVD does.

Ahh interesting, for me thats another plus for the French release.
I hate subtitles on foreign language songs as it takes away the mystique as I always imagine the lyrics to be more profound than they actually are. If all my Bollywoods had subtitled songs, and I could tell how silly the lyrics were, I would like them less.

I feel the same way about the German band Rammstein. Vocals are really cool, but when I read translations, the lyrics are really cheesy.

Is the French Blu-Ray version region locked

Hi Howiefan. Just curious if you were able to get the French version to play without issues. When I looked at amazon.fr, it appeared the Blu-ray was Region 2 only (which would be an issue in NA).

Can anyone confirm whether the French version is in fact Region locked? Thanks!!

The movie comes on a region free Blu-ray disk but the extras are on a Region 2 PAL DVD. But yeah, there aren't any subtitles on the songs, which I don't mind since I speak French but I can see why English speakers would want them.

It looks stunning. The first time I watched the movie, it was in HD on TV but the Blu-ray looks even better. The picture is very clean and rich. I can't speak about the audio mix though since I watched it in my bedroom where I don't have a sound system.

Did you order the UK version? How does it compare to the French version?
