I tested Mr and Mrs Smith last night and the audio blew me away. The mini-van chase scene is UNREAL in DTS-HD. Shards of glass sound like they are falling all around your head. Shoot ‘Em Up and the Transporter also great demo discs.

Now that I have updated to 2.30, how do I confirm the DTS-MA is actually being decoded and played correctly rather than downmixing it to standard DTS? What should I see on the screen that will confirm this? Cause my receiver displays Multichannel PCM in either case.

And also I am confused on these other DTS MA 6.1 and 7.1 movies. X-men 3 is DTS MA 6.1 and Hairspray is DTS MA 7.1. Does that mean that all other DTS MA titles are only 5.1?
And it appears only a couple dozen titles are using 24 bit. What bit are the other that don't state it? 16 bit? Is there much of a difference. |

"Only a couple dozen using 24-bit"? Fox has only released a couple dozen Blurays. I pulled about 40 from my collection to check out, and there were probably about another 20 or so that I didn't pull because they wouldn't have super audio (Wall Street, etc.). But all the ones I've watched so far have all been 24-bit. The Simpsons, Commando, Predator, AVP Requiem, X-Men, Flyboys. Commando & Predator were both delayed when the encryption was cracked months ago (hence they still have MPEG-2 transfers), and they both have 24-bit on a single-layer. And the Bitrate is even higher than comparable TrueHD. Since nobody hardly uses 24-bit PCM anymore (last few Disney titles that claim it only had the 4.6Mbps & not the 6.9 of POTC), this may be my new favorite audio.
