Meet the Spartans on Blu-ray 6/3. We're doomed.

Yes, folks, the year's most anticipated Blu-ray title is coming soon!

At least all the 50GB disc advocates will be happy to know this will get a 25GB encode.

Discuss. Express your fears. Vent away.

If this is the Epic Movie guys then no thanks. I like spoofs, but that film was pretty unwatchable.

And I heard the movie is barely longer than an hour. Almost an hour too much.

Why would anyone actually buy this? A rental to satiate a perverse curiosity, ok, fair enough. But to add to your collection...

Or Waitress, or Lars and the Real Girl for that matter.

However, we have to remember that it isn't what's good or what we like that matters. This film unfortunately did $38 million at the box office.

I don't think the PS3 demographic would enjoy The Darjeeling Limited or Waitress. Well, unless it had tons of boobies in it!!!!!

Yeah, I'm regretting my purchase a little. I mean, I've done my part. I bought Volver. Now what?

I CAN'T be the only one with a PS3 who owns Assassination of Jesse James, Black Book, Gone Baby Gone, and/or Good Night and Good Luck, yet doesn't have anything with the words "Pirates" or "Potter" in the title.

I think you overstate this "PS3 demographic a bit" especially considering that most video game players are adults and there are quite a few people on here, also adults, that bought their PS3s solely for movies. Plus, TDL did have Sweet Lime in it.

I do think that's more of a Fox thing. They seem a little more reluctant than the other studios to release their 'smaller' day-and-date titles, although every studio has at least a handful of movies like that.

I would've bought The Darjeeling Limited and Waitress on Blu-ray, personally. I have to think there's a reason why Darjeeling didn't get the HDM nod, but I'm not sure what that might be.

It's people like you two that make these movies happen.

Most people on this forum are adults. We are not most people who buy video games. As someone who managed a video game store for 2+ years I can tell you their are way more children and young teenagers that buy video games then adults. Would you like to know how many copies of BMX XXX I sold? Or The Guy Game? Cause I can tell you....it was not adults who purchased those titles (well, their parents did for them )

The sad thing? Meet the Spartans is sure to be #1 that Blu-ray week.

Actually, no it's not, in my case at least. Before attempting to lump me into the category of philistine, let me clarify that was merely an attempt at humor in which I tried to empathize with the point of view of someone who just can't quite resist the urge to gaze into the void of such dreck. As in, "Ok, if some of you absolutely must experience this, for God's sake don't make it a parmanent part of your collection." I guess I assumed that was blatantly obvious. WhoOops~!

Most of my friends with PS3s usually have BDs that are like that.

My tiny BD collection...because I'm bored.

Michael Clayton
The Assassination of Jesse James
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Blade Runner
3:10 to Yuma
No Country for Old Men
Spider-Man 3 (free with the PS3)

I know No Country is good but good enough to have two copies?

(One's for lending out to everybody I know who is curious about it lol, in case you were wondering)
