For those of you who want to use your existing remotes for the PS3, this just in: The IR2 BT.
This solution comes in a palm-sized device that allows a universal remote's infrared signal to be converted into bluetooth, which is recognized by the PS3. The device promises to transmit "all 51 Sony Blu-ray remote codes including the PS button for Power On / Off."
It operates off two AA batteries, or a mini-USB connector.

Yeah. This is a hot item! They're sold out, but expecting more. I have to admit, I was keeping this quiet myself because I wanted a better chance of receiving one. Currently the fledgling manufacturer doesn't have a method of pre-order, so you basically just have to keep checking back on the site.

is this not as good as the nyko IR remote? that one is cheaper no?

This is a lot better. The Nyko kit limits you to what the controller can do, minus the PS button. There are several functions on the Bluetooth remote that cannot be done with the controller, at least without going to that onscreen menu. This device supports all that the BT remote does, plus adds a power on command.
