Awesome news about Manchester Morgue!

I have the original AB release and never upgraded to the BU release. Will definitely be picking it up in BD though

I've been wanting to get a BU BD but they're a bit expensive right now, average $30-$35. Just give us Argento Blus.

They've given us two and a half Argentos on Blu-ray in the past 8 or 9 months. I'll buy any and all Argentos they put out, but I don't think they're being stingy in that department. I don't know where you're buying your BU BDs, but they're $18-$20 at Amazon, and they're usually within $2-$5 of the DVD -- better than just about any other company at the moment. (The Stendhal Syndrome is cheaper on Blu-ray than it is on DVD!)

Can a mod rename this thread to something like "The Official Blue Underground Blu-ray thread"?

Really impressed with BU's new lower prices. Almost their entire catalog is now $17-$18 on Amazon. I blind pre-ordered NY York Ripper.

you've never seen New York Ripper? - oh you're in for a ... er, treat. (either you'll like it or not, there's not a middle ground)

Not that I can remember. At $17 I figured it was worth a shot.

I'm hoping Netflix picks up New York Ripper in time for the challenge - it's still in the Saved queue, despite being released next week.

That makes me happy. I only own one of BU's BD titles yet but at that price ($15 would be sweeter) I might start picking them up.

I agree with KillerCannibal....I love the original Toolbox Murders but would prefer having Maniac over it.

Re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

What happened to THE CRAZIES and DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS?

These are the two I'm most looking forward to. Although I see LIVING DEAD IN THE MANCHESTER MORGUE is definite with a 10/27/09 release date.

Any news on more Argento on Blu? Would be great to get SUSPIRIA, INFERNO and PHENOMENA!

Re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

Crazies will probably come next year when the remake comes out.

Suspiria is Weinstein.

Re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

Inferno and Phenomena are still owned by Anchor Bay / Starz and there's been no Blu-ray movement on those titles or Demons 1 & 2 from them other than them just mentioning it's a "possibility" in the future.

Re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

Well, I wasn't going to upgrade my copy of New York Ripper, but Stuart's review, and its 5-star PQ rating, have convinced me otherwise. Can't wait to check it out!

Re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

That 5-star rating is completely deserved too. There's no grading on a curve here: this is seriously the best looking disc from the early-to-mid '80s that's made its way to Blu-ray, and it looks like it could've been shot many, many years later than it really was.

I'm guessing this is from an older release since Gary has passed on.

Re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

Huge european horror film fan here, got this on release day from Amazon. It does indeed look fantastic. Such a great film. I hope more horror, especially good horror films look as good as NYR does when they are released.

Re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

Anyone notice a lipsync issue with NY Ripper? Does not appear that dialog matches face movement.

Probably dubbing you are seeing as most, not all, but most weren't speaking english to begin with and were dubbed into english.

Re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray

Yeah, I figured most were speaking English in the first place, but looking at the lips I can make out they are saying exactly what is coming through in English but it appears to be off slightly. I've tried rebooting the player (BD390) etc. but still the problem persists.

I popped this in very late tuesday and was admittedly tired but nothing seemed to pop out as being out of sync on my Oppo. I'll have to give it a second look as you could be right or could be a player issue. Curious about this now.
