re: Blue Underground on Blu-ray
Not sure how many BU titles I'd upgrade to BD for. I'll probably get Maniac if the transfer is a marked improvement, but what I'd really like is Zombi 2... just with the Shriek Show extras.

From DVD Active:
Blue Underground has announced a Blu-ray release of Circle of Iron which stars David Carradine and Christopher Lee. The disc will be available to own from the 19th May, and should retail at around $34.95. The film itself will be presented in widescreen, along with 7.1 DTS-HD and 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtracks. Extras will include commentary with Director Richard Moore, interviews with Star David Carradine, Co-Producer Paul Maslansky, Martial Arts Coordinator Joe Lewis, Co-Writer Stirling Silliphant, theatrical trailers, and TV spots.

I would pick up more Blue Underground releases on BD if they were priced just a little cheaper. Unlike every other studio though, their items rarely come down in price, even years after the initial release. A M.S.R.P. of $34.95 is a little too high in my opinion for much of their current catalog. I think somewhere closer to $29.95 would generate more profit for them.

The MSRP for these very niche titles is ridiculous. I've passed on the last few simply because most would be blind buys and I'm not spending $30 on them.

Im guessing theyre expensive because theyre cult favorites and BU puts alot of work into them with Bonus features and pic/sound quality. Well worth it for that price than other studios crappy releases.

Good news about the talk on Maniac Cop and Street Trash.
Bummed about Lemora though, as I loved the film.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
I know Synapse put out the View Askew films that weren't directed by Kevin Smith (Drawing Flies, A Better Place, and Vulgar). Out of the three, A Better Place was my favorite (not to discount Drawing Flies, which was also very good; haven't seen Vulgar), and I would LOVE to see a Blu release of that.
