I got ten titles (seven BDs, three HD DVDs) including four preorders for $143.80, free shipping.

Thanks, CH for finally doing something real nice with HDs. I'm glad I held off.

Excellent deal! I ended up with 5 Blu-ray and 3 HD-DVD.
Around $14 dollars a disc and many were pre-orders!

Great Deal - Thanks for the heads up Copper Blue!

I picked up The Descent & 30 Days of Night on BD, and Beowulf and Stardust as a couple last HD DVD hurrahs

Wanted to get I Am Legend - but couldn't get it to work with the deal - either the BD or HD DVD versions.

Does CH hold orders until all items are in stock and released? I've never actually made a pre-order with them.

They seem to be inconsistent. Sometimes I get those that have been released and sometimes they seem to hold them forever and a day. Patience is the key and you will get everything eventually.

Thx for this notice!

I jumped in head 1st on this deal. Ended up ordering 18 movies, mostly Blu. With taxes, it came out to $15.30/movie, but I got $20 in funcash which I can apply to a 19th movie later on.

So, should end up being about $15.11/movie

....and you can't just open one up "on the fly". Takes a freakin' week for them to review your application.

FWIW, Funcash can't be used on HD titles. While that may change eventually, don't count on it.

some Pre-Orders not working

I've been playing with different combinations all morning, and have found that both "Michael Clayton" and "I Am Legend" (both combo HD) will not work, regardless of the combination I use (I tried both with various current HD releases).

Both are on the list of HD DVD's found when you click the BOGO banner.

Can you share with me when you placed your order? I'm wondering if this was something they changed today.

Also, if anyone else has any luck with either of these, please advise. Maybe you pre-ordered "I Am Legend" on Blu-Ray?

So far, I'm looking to pull the trigger on "Bee Movie" and "Beowulf", but would prefer one of the other two (or both!) I mentioned above.

I have an opinion that they aren't allowing for these 2, should they stop carrying HD later in March, and don't want to have to deal with the refunds that it could cause.

Any help is appreciated....thanks.

I just ordered Atonement; Elizabeth: The Golden Age; The Invasion; The Kingdom; Bee Movie; Stardust; Michael Clayton; and I Am Legend. All titles are HD DVD. No sales tax and free shipping. BOGO final cost was $116.84 or $14.61 each. Now its time to start working on a Blu-ray order!

I also can't get I am Legend (blu-ray) to combine with title of choice (Crank blu-ray). I think its because I am Legend is priced at $35 and the regular price for Crank is $39. I noticed that I am Legend works with The Brave One, which has the same price.

I don't want to be unthankful for this promotion, so let me first say that I will probably place multiple orders, but Columbia House sure makes it frustrating to truly take advantage of this deal.

The price doesn't seem to matter, and some discs that are available (many have been for some time) simply aren't working as the "Free" Dvd, regardless of what I paired it up with. These include "Shooter" and "Evan Almighty". The only way I could get "Micheal Clayton" and "I Am Legend" to work was to pair them up with a much, much older HD Release such as "Casino" and "Goodfellas". It may be price, but it doesn't make sense that my combo below works, but other combos with "Michael Clayton" and "I Am Legend" don't.....I think it's purely random.

That said, I didn't want to double dip on my HD purhcases, so I stuck to my guns and only went after stuff I either haven't seen, don't own on standard DVD, or if it's a family film for my daughter (those get played a bazillion times in my house!).

You can pair up "Beowulf" with the pre-order of "Bee Movie", which I belive is a killer deal. (Note, "Shooter" is an older catalogue title priced at $29.99, same as these 2, that I could not get to work with either of these....go figure)

Now, I noticed they are offering a "free dvd $19.95 and under" with the purchase of another....and it remained on the page of my shopping cart as an available offer (they put a green check mark next to these at the top of your cart webpage). So, I added a standard movie, and my total remained the same.

Here's the deal, in short. You can buy 2 HD/Blu Ray for the price of one, and use free shipping....a very good deal. Or, you can add a standard DVD to your cart, pay the $6.xx shipping and get 3 discs out of this.

I added "8 1/2 Criterion" to mine....so, I got 2 HD movies, one 2 disc Criterion, all for $36.93 ($12.31 per movie). I'd say that's a very good deal!

Happy Hunting!

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and ordered six titles. For $85 bucks and free shipping, that's pretty damn good. It's the first thing I've bouht from CH in over a year.

I was able to get both the Bee Movie (HD-Dvd) and Dewey Cox (BD) on one order despite both being pre-orders.

I can't believe it!! I just sent them a letter about six weeks ago cancelling my membership. I told them I switched to Blu-ray and HD dvd and I would be back when they started carrying those formats. This is after being in the club for years!!! I guess it SUCKS TO BE ME!!!!!

Seems like they carried HD titles before 6 weeks ago. I bought Transformers from them when it was released. It's always a good idea to keep an account open even if not ordering regularly. Every once and awhile CH will have a good deal like the Viva Pedro set, the Billy Wilder set misprice a few years back, etc.

Too bad Bee Movie has been canceled on HD-DVD.
