Disney Movie Rewards Blu Lightning McQueen Car Promotion

I purchased Cars when Toys 'R Us was having the BOGO free offer on Disney Blu-rays and I immediately submitted the code and chose the free car offer from the website.

I remember hearing people say they got more than 1 car for the offer, some people even kept getting one every week. Because of this it was not surprising that they ran out of inventory. As much as I wanted that car, Disney stepped up to the plate and is offering me a Blu-ray movie for the same $3.50 processing fee they were charging for the McQueen Car.

Those of you who also placed the order may want to look in your mailboxes:

Dear Disney Movie Rewards Member,

Recently you were offered the opportunity to receive a Blu Lightning McQueen car for entering the Disney Movie Rewards Magic Code found inside Pixar's Cars on Blu-ray Disc.

Due to an overwhelming response to this promotion and the limited availability of inventory we regret to inform you we will be unable to fulfill your order. Your credit card has not been charged the $3.50 shipping and handling fee.

You are a valued customer and we would like to take this opportunity to offer you a replacement product. Please select one of the titles listed below for the same $3.50 shipping and processing fee.

Eight Below

Chicken Little

Bridge to Terabithia

Sky High

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl

Remember the Titans

The Wild

Dinosaur

Glory Road

The Haunted Mansion

Meet the Robinsons

Underdog

Invincible

Simply reply to this email with your selection and your preferred format (DVD or Blu-ray Disc). If no preferred format is provided, the default will be DVD. Your credit card will be charged the $3.50 for shipping and processing.

The offer for a replacement product is only valid until March 31, 2008. Please remember to make your selection by this date.

Again, we apologize for this matter and value your loyalty.

Disney Movie Rewards Consumer Relations Team

I really want to get Curse of the Black Pearl, but its scheduled to come in whenever I get my 5 free. My next choice would have been Chicken Little, but I should be getting that from that Retail Training website. That leaves Bridge to Terabithia, Sky High and Meet the Robinsons as my options. Decisions, decisions...

I applied for mine a few weeks ago and it came fairly quick. A week later I got a second one. I had no idea why. These things seem to go for a fair penny online though. They should have used a Blu-Ray logo on the car somewhere!

I got the same email last night. I went for Chicken Little based solely on the DVDtalk review. I largely wrote it off before the review but figured for $3.50, I'll give it a shot.

As for you, I've only seen MtR but really enjoyed it. I had low expectations going in but was pleasantly surprised. Your other option is scour the list to see what fetches the most on half/ebay and dump it.

Or put it in a decent package for collectors, not some plastic wrap.

Yea, one of mine had a little mark on the car. Both were put in the bags facing opposite directions. It was only a couple bucks though.

There is a carded version on Ebay that looks similiar, and is only a few dollars as well. It looks like a lighter shade of blue was used. The Rewards car is too purple IMO.

I think I did mine about 5-6 weeks ago. And I also got two that came about a week apart.

That's because it represents the time when McQueen had both HD disc formats.

Any idea why my Cars blu-ray never came with anything for a free promotion car?

I guess that's what I get for being an early adopter of the movie?

No, I don't... I saw the Blu-Ray in stores the other day, has a sticker for a free Lightning McQueen car, but when I got the Blu-Ray back in November it had no offer for the car anywhere on it, and just a generic Disney rewards card.

Sign up! Do you have many Disney dvds?

http://disney.go.com/disneymovierewards/

It's too late for the car, but you can still enter in the codes.

They sent me nine cars. Bad quality control when you consider some people now have to go without.

Yeah I got around 9 as well. Staring at 5 of them now, a few have made their way onto eBay.

Damn, I was feeling guilty about the 7 I got, all of which I sold for around $50 each. Basically paid for my PS3 and a few blus.

Glad I sold em right away cause the prices have been dropping.

The disneydvd site says I still have 3 "In process" which I'm sure ain't coming at this point.

I also received 9 Pixar pin sets with 1 still showing "In process"
I gave all those away to the kids on the block.

Damn, I still haven't gotten my Pixar pins. And I sent away for them twice, due to getting the Blu-ray, which triggered it again.

I got 2 cars as well...when the second one arrived I was pretty surprised... but man, I'd definitely rather have a free blu-ray disc!

How do you check your status? I haven't received any cars or any emails.

I got two cars. No idea why they have value on eBay, but I may sell my second one at some point.
