Sony DBP-S1 Clearanced for $128.00 at Sears!

Just got back from the Sears at SuperStition Springs Mall in Mesa, AZ and they had the BDP-S1 clearenced for $128.00. The product sku was out of the system and I advised them the Milwaukee Sears had it active in the system for $128.00. Manager agreed to sell it for that price. I know the player is a little old but for Blu-ray playback only (don't care about 2.0 players) this is a steal.

SKU# 57436 or 57 57436

2 year warranty through sonystyle is $24.99 if anyone is interested.

You will need to call them and order it over the phone.

Called to the three stores in the San Diego area, and none had any in stock. Two of them did not even have the player in their system. Said they only have the S300.

Thank you OP...

I called 6 stores around me (Pittsburgh) and 6 around my sister (Alexandria, VA) and no one had any, I ended calling one about 45 minutes away from me (South Hills Village) this afternoon, and they had 1, the display, w/o the instructions for $145.00. I assume I can find the instructions online, I drove down this evening, and picked it up. They offered me the 3 year warranty for 149.99, but i couldn't justify paying as much as I did for the player for a warranty.
I was hoping i could get the 5 free BDs, but no box = no UPC, there is a sticker on the side with a upc, but the guy there is pretty sure it wont work...

OP, can i get a link to the firmware upgrade page, I looked but can't seem to find it...

Nick

Congrats ivelostr2! I didn't have any luck here in Alexandria either. Thanks anyway for the heads up OP. I guess I'll hold out a little longer & hopefully I'll be able to get a deal on a player one of these days.

$229.94 for the floor model in Milford, CT. I'll check a few other locations before I decide to pull the trigger or not.
