Don't forget the code "dvdsave5" to get an extra $5 off of $50. Expires on the 8th I think.

There's a few that I want but I'm still on the fence about buying more HD-DVDs; especially now since it looks like we're going to see some serious sales.

I am ordering a very select few.... Usually when they do these sales there is also a Blu-ray sale also... anyone see the blu-ray sales yet or this may just be a Universal thing?

I've pretty much stopped buying HD & gone with the Blu, but I've been waiting forever for Out of Sight at a good price.

So I just placed an order for

Out of Sight
Pride & Prejudice
Tremors

I just ordered Elizabeth, as I can't seem to get it from Netflix. Used prices are still pretty high on that title, so I'm not worried about getting rid of it if I want to.

It's disappointing that given the current state of affairs, Uni still can't see fit to offer a BOGO on their titles. I know I would have picked up a few more if this sale was a BOGO.

Great movie, and I think it looks very, very good on HD-DVD.

What exactly do you consider the difference between a "Everything 50% Off" sale and a "Buy One Get One Free" sale? In both cases, you get 2 discs for the price you would normally pay for one.

In fact, in this case you can buy an odd number of discs and still get a bargain.

Umm not exactly.

50% is off MSRP= $15 for each=$30 for 2
Buy 1 Get 1 is off the regular amazon.com price= $20 for 2 = $10 each

I think Amazon got tired of taking it in the shorts with the BOGOs, where they were giving away free shipping on $20 orders (or if you had the 10% nee 20% discount, it was free shipping on $16 orders). That ain't no way to run a business.

Ding.

Right now $15 each is only $3 less than I used to be able to get those titles for when they were released. Not a huge incentive.

The 50% off is not as big a deal with they normally sell them at 25%-30% off.

Nice. Used the $5 off and a $25 Gift Coupon to pick up:

Stargate (BR)
12 Monkeys (HD)
Tremors (HD)
2001 - A Space Odyssey (BR)

$32.80 shipped

Will buy What Dreams May Come and Cat People.
That $5 off VISA coupon only works when paying with a VISA card, not a giftcard, right?

If you need to get rid of that $210, see my post in this thread-

You mean $57.80 shipped. That $25 GC was money, not a coupon.

(Sorry, personal pet peeve. Anything you can buy food with is money. Coupons are discounts. Many people seem to think that gift certificates don't count as money because they, I dunno, aren't listed on their W-2 or something.)

What I meant is that you can order something from Amazon( a watch would be good because it wouldn't cost much to return) and then return it for a refund. Amazon would give you a gift certificate code for the $210 that you can deposit into your gift certificate balance. So simply put, for the cost of return shipping, you can swap out your Borders gift cards for Amazon credit.
