Should I sell my hd dvd addon for the 360, along with the movies
Since it seems Bluray will be the winner in this drawn out battle and there will probably not be much more in the way of hd-dvd content. I have a hd-dvd 360 addon that I have yet to open. I also have about 10 movies for it. Just wondering if I should go ahead and throw it on ebay?

I dont know if that would help Sony or not but unless they only charge $50 for it, it would be bad for Microsoft. Since Blu-ray is poised to be the standard in Hi def media, Microsoft cannot charge 179 for something that the 40 gig ps3 can do out of the box. It all comes down to costs
Xbox 360 Pro $350
Xbox Blu-ray drive $180
Total cost $530 with only 20gb Hard drive
Xbox 360 Elite $450
Xbox Blu-ray drive $180
Total cost $630 with 120gb Hard drive
Either way you look at the PS3 is the better value. If you look at downloads for PS3 that are available, you wont fill up 40gb for a long long time.
And even if you think you need the 80gb storage space, it is still alot cheaper than an elite and the cost of a separate blu-ray drive. Since there is no way that MS can produce a blu-ray drive for $50, they need to pretend that the HD DVD drive didnt exist and try to get the consumers to ignore that the competitor's machine has the added feature of playing Blu-rays.
p.s. Also with recent HD DVD players costing 100 and 200 dollars, thier HD DVD drive should have SIGNIFICANTLY reduced in price already. Dont be surprised if Warner's decision creates a snowball effect that causes MS to discontinue thier accessory, and for Paramount and Universal to make the jump soon.

I think you should keep it - You've probably got more money wrapped up into than what your going to get out of it.
Open it and enjoy all the HD Bliss

i'm keeping my add-on, sigh, a bad investment indeed. It's ironic that i bragged about the BB's hd-dvd box set glitch with the add-on during the hd-dvd Heroes promotion. It was $198-ish at the time for all of the goodies, but now? Holy shit, the same cash can probably get you a used add-on with tons of hd-dvds... sigh, i'm keeping mines...

I've put up my HD DVD's up on Ebay yesterday. Although I have seen that the price for these movies on Ebay has plummeted recently, I don't want to wait around and see what these prices will be months from now. And when I'm done watching the rest of my HD movies, I'm selling the player too.

I'd love to sell my 360 add-on and the dozen or so titles I own right now, but most of them are exlcusive to Red. That being the case, it means I couldn't enjoy titles like Battlestar Galactica Season 1 in Hi Def until the studio (Universal) goes Blu. Who knows when that will be.

I don't understand people "bailing" on HD-DVD. I love the HD-DVDs movies I have (I also have about the same number of BD movies). They didn't stop working overnight. I paid an average of $15 a movie including the cost of the HD-DVD drive and 2 additional HD-DVD players. Compared to going to the movies it's a great price. The quality is par with the BDs on the market now. I'll enjoy all my movies for years to come. I'm keeping my HD-DVD add-on and the players.
