Paramount to drop its support of HD DVD?

Paramount, which is owned by Viacom, is understood to have a clause in its contract with the HD DVD camp that would allow it to switch sides in the event of Warner Bros backing Blu-ray, according to people familiar with the situation.

Tired subject. When they officially announce something it will be interesting to talk about. I certainly hope they and Universal support BD soon.

And Paramount has come out yet again and denied all of these rumors.

Just like Warner denied that they would go Blu-Ray exclusive after the holidays.

Plus I feel it's important to note that Paramount is saying that they will "continue to support HD" not that they won't go back to being format neutral.

Things like this always get me. If Paramount says nothing, they are "being silent on the issue." If they issue a denial, "Warner denied they would go BD exclusive." Short of taking a collective shit on the exposed innards of a PS3 (or A35), there is nothing Paramount can do that will convince people one way or the other - so why speculate with the same tired nonsense over and over...and over?
