Timecop on HD DVD any reviews?

The has to be Jean-Claude Van Damme best picture with a true plot to it. Any reviews out there? I believe this is his only film ever to gross over 100 million.

I just watched my rental copy and the review is pretty much on the mark. The sound is acceptable but I had to turn up the volume for the dialogue and down for the "crash-boom". It looks good throughout but never "Amazing!". The brightly-lit scenes have the most "Pop!", while the dark scenes are somewhat less detailed, but not annoyingly so.

Still, since the DVD was cropped to "Standard Frame", this is your only shot at getting in its OAR (unless you're an old, old man with the laserdisc, like me). This is one of those titles where its almost better to pick it up on one of those Amazon deals...

OK I just read the review. Under the audio section the reviewer said "There’s not a whole lot of LFE, I barely heard my sub do jack watching this." I myself did have the LD of Timecop (sold it years ago) and remember my sub going off when the time travel (CGI) would happen. So, is this missing from the audio track.

I can't believe a JCVD film was released on HD-DVD, before much more deserving films. I guess it's rights, but they can't expect it to sell well. I remember it being a pretty mediocre film, and JCVD was my favourite actor as a kid, lol.

My copy's already on its way back to Netflix, so I can't double-check, but the SFX were effective for me. I had the player sey to bitstream since this was a Dolby Plus (rather than via the PCM).
