Weeds was an absolute steal for $25 or so it streets for. HBO charged way too much for the DVD seasons as well, they carried that price structure over to HDM.

Theatrical movies don't get good ratings on the broadcast networks, which is why they don't show them often. And when they do show them, they're usually on Fridays, Saturdays or holidays when viewership is down anyway.

It's still better (for us) than endless repeats and reality shows. :p

Amen to that. I will not be watching any reality TV. If they showed movies (or even a miniseries or two never shown in HD), I will tune in. Otherwise, I'm out for the rest of the season except for the few, dwindling remaining scripted shows.

Even though you haven't picked up either format you seem to be falling for the marketing hype in the way you think 1080i or 720p is a lesser form of HD.

Marketing hype or no, I'm saying that indisputably 1080i is slightly inferior to 1080p which a high-definition DVD format could provide. Regardless, I refuse to jump into the format war. The only time I won that one was DVD versus DIVX (Circuit City's Digital Video Express).:rip:

I think the networks listened, Shrek 2 and MIB: II are both being played tonight and in HD.

Granted, both were pretty crappy sequels. But, I'm curious to check out how good Shrek 2 looks.

Here in Chicago they showed BIG in HD on the local "My Network" the other day,
I was surprised to see that.

I also was interested in seeing how Shrek 2 looked in its HD broadcast. Thanks for the reminder. I was pissed last week when I missed the HD broadcast of POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl on ABC.
