20 Million Miles to Earth BD
I just got done watching this and it looks better than it ever has. I didn't see the SD version of the Anniversary Edition, but the BD is pretty darn good. I highly recommend it for any classic Sci-fi/Harryhausen fans.
Also, there's a cool feature that allows you to toggle between the B&W version and the Color version by hitting the angle button. |
My copy's in the mail from Amazon now. It's kinda funny that it's shipping with Superbad and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, two of the year's most successful movies, and I'm looking forward to 20 Million Miles to Earth more than both of those combined.

Then again, black and white may generally take a lot less space to encode. |
I watched this last night, and I agree, what a stunning disc! Major 3D-pop throughout, lots of detail, no EE... to me, it's HD demo-worthy. I also enjoyed the True-HD soundtrack... nothing too flashy at all, but very atmospheric. Afterwards, I only skimmed through the colorized version... still looks cheezy as all hell, especially the fleshtones, but the Ymir was pretty cool in green. Big props to Sony for dipping into the catalog for Blu for a change, I hope to see more. BIG thumbs up!

I need to pick this one up, along with Cars, Pixar Shorts, and Hot Rod.

Mine should be here tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to this one too.

This is the first title on BD that I'm really upset about missing.
