The Godfather and Indiana Jones to be released in Norway
 

"In a recent interview with Norwegian trade magazine release.no, Jon Einar Sivertsen, CEO of Paramount Home Entertainment Norway, stated that they will release the Godfather movies and the Indiana Jones movies on HD DVD in 2008."

Well, I didnt think I would buy anymore other region movies, but I may have to make an exception.

I think we'll see a US release of Indiana Jones with the release of the new movie on DVD next year, so this isn't surprising. The Godfather was also recently cleaned up by Robert Harris.

Looks like i'll have to get an hd player now.

If these do come out in Norway and there is no corresponding US release, Tony at Xploited is going to be a VERY busy guy.

If this is true, they'll probably make you buy GF3 to get the first film....

I'd say no way would a Norway only release happen, but then I consider Harry Potter . . . But I think the chances are against it.

I already bought Spider-Man 3 to get the first two. I wouldn't hesitate for one second to buy Godfather III to own the first two in HD.

Me too. My RoboCop 3 coaster from the trilogy set is cracked.

Godfather Trilogy in HD would be so beautiful, I think it would bring a tear to my eye.

Of course they will -- see the Matrix and Ocean's trilogies.

Hey I like GF3! If not for Sofia Coppola's weak acting performance, my order of preference for the films would probably be II, III, I. It's sad Winona Ryder couldn't finish it.

But anyway, back on topic, I need a cleaned-up version of the Godfather badly. I thought it looked bad on my SDTV, well, it is borderline unwatchable on my new HD set.

It'll bring a tear to my eye and an HD-A30 to my shopping cart.

jigga was hinting at a Godfather trilogy earlier in the year, so I don't see why we wouldn't get it in the US. They would all be using the same elements and (new? remastered?) print anyway.

Indiana Jones for me. I have never seen a single minute of The Godfathers before...Maybe its time for a rent?

I'll put off getting excited until these are officially announced. We've been burned too many times by false promises, delays, and outright cancellations for me to get hyped over something like this.

Gizmo, yeah, you should see The Godfather movies. :)

The HD-DVD side really needs to release the big guns like this to improve their sales. Hope they keep it up with other gems from their back catalogues. Good for them and good for us!
