Wife say's "Just buy another player"

My wife brought me home Planet Earth on HD-DVD. I explained that we have a Blu-ray player and that it would not work! She said why don't you just buy an HD player since your Birthday is coming up. Now I know that Planet Earth comes on Blu-ray and I could exchange it, but this is an excellent excuse to buy an HD player and have both formats. (GOOD WIFE).

Because of her "understanding" we have a 52 in Toshiba DLP, X-Box 360, PS3, Wii, and a 7.1 system with two subs. And it is not a HTIB!

Wouldn't that be a 7.2 system?

I get this response from my wife all the time... A few times we have almost put a kettlebell or dog toy through the TV and her response is always, "well, we will just have to get a new one". One day she is going to come home and see my shoe through the TV because Im ready to upgrade.

In a way it is a "7.2", I have a B&W 12 inch and an Infinity 10 at opposite sides of the TV room. (Y adapter split) Mono in to each sub. Sound very very good. 3 out of our 5 dog's run and hide anytime there is movie "thunder" or explosions.

I have a Marantz set to 75db for a reference level setting when set at 0db Vol.
Mostly -20db to -15db is plently loud enough unless no one else is home.

As far as a player goes, I might go cheap and get the 360 HD add on since unlike the low end Toshiba's it will do 1080P. The bottom end Tosh's only do 1080I.

And $179 with 5 free HD-DVD's is an awesome deal obviously.

You do your kettlebell exercises in the same room as the TV?

I don't have a 1080p TV, but IIRC, your TV will deinterlace the 1080i signal and output it at 1080p on the cheaper A2. Or you could try to get an A3 on Black Friday from Sears for like $170, which includes Bourne Identity and 300 in the box (plus you get your 5 free by mail).

Hmmm that sounds pretty good too. I have always been happy with the Toshiba products I have had throughout the years.

As far as "crazy" sister goes, she is pretty hot, but the crazy on this one out weights the hotness. We are talking 100% pure wingnut material.

P.s.

This is the most fun I have had at work all week! I think I will now shop online for an HD player. (I wouldn't want to get the wife mad by not buying one)

The HD Planet Earth is the BBC copy with Attenburough, too good to pass up and not watch. I watched the entire series when it was on Discovery. Well worth seeing again.

I will gladly trade you my wife, her custom made leather harness, a cattle prod and her plow for your wife straight up.

If you act today I will even throw in a free one way ticket to fly her from Kazakhstan to your home.

Sounds like a good deal. Is she #1 hooker in all of Kazakhstan?

For some reason, it just makes her seem hotter...

True crazy can be good, until you want to get rid of the crazy after said act is done. Then crazy equals bad.

If I wasn't married to her non crazy sister I'd hit it, and then move out of state.

I'd go for an x-box 360 w/ the HD-DVD drive if you are into video games.

I already have the 360, just trying to decide on the HD-add on or a stand alone HD player.

I use my 360 for gaming, I bought my PS3 mainly for a Blu-ray player.

I meant to say "Yay" my birthday is Friday, we got the Wii on Wednesday. Been getting too much stuff lately.

I'ts Friday, not one person is going to say Happy Birthday. "sad" Just for that I think I may have to take the rest of the work day off, go home, and play vids or watch a DVD.
