Japanese Fragile HD DVD

Hi,

just received the above HD DVD (that is the ghost story not the Yes DVD). Just fancied something a bit different. Has anyone else got this? If so, have you been able to access any of the menus? The film just starts to play as soon as it loads and the menu button from the remote doesn't work. Anyone, any ideas??

I thought this was going to be a thread about Japanese-made HD DVDs that had some sort of manufacturing problem that rendered them prone to damage.

Me too.

But, seriously, maybe there is no main menu on the disc per se but rather a pop up menu, like Warner Bros. releases.

Sorry about the misleading title. Are Jap HD DVDs fragile? Anyway, the leaflet in the DVD case says there is, what appears to be, a proper menu. I don't speak Japanese but the pictures make it pretty obvious. It also seems to suggest there is a choice of audio and subtitles but I can't get those to work either. It isn't a big deal because the film is in English but I was just curious. If the HD DVD hadn't come from a reputable company I would have suspected a copy.
