Where does it say there is 2 free movies on the spot? Is it in the ad?

EDIT: I see the price is lowered online...hmmm.

It's on their website. None of the stores near me have any in stock, but CC's near me do. Print out the webpages, and price-match. Beats the hell out of going to a shoving match at Wally-World.

Online, yes - but print out the online ad and take it in store. A lot of local BB still have stock.

My projector does 720p. Will I see the difference with this player and an HDMI cable?

?

when you buy any Toshiba HD DVD player.
The only thing it says about the A2 is that it's not available in some stores.

Hell YES. It upconverts DVDs amazingly, and HD-DVD quality will blow you away.

Looks like I have to head to Wal-Mart....

All of my local BB's are out of stock on them, and the local circuit city will ONLY pricematch if the player is in stock...which it isn't.

A2 is eligible, but finding it is another story. None in any around me, including Delaware.

I have a Mitsubishi HD1000U Projector, it is also 720p. The difference between SD-DVD and HD-DVD is night and day, it really is quite unbelievable. Even compared to HD Broadcasts it is a nice upgrade, especially in color.

Wow, looks like I'm finally making the HD plunge! Thanks, OPs!

Just ordered an A2 for pick-up at Bestbuy.com, but it wouldn't grant me the two free HD-DVDs. If I print out that page and just show it when I pick the player up, will they honor it?

Maybe a Moderator can change the thread title to add Best Buy. Best Buy matching this at $100 is huge. Just ordered one for in-store pick-up at the only Best Buy near me that had it in stock, and it was just confirmed that it is ready for pick-up! This will be going in our bedroom, as we already have an HD-A2 in the family room. Crazy deal.

I'll be bringing the printout also for the 2 HD-DVD's free, as it wouldn't give them to me for free at checkout. No reason it shouldn't be honored at the store.

You're lucky. EVERY FREAKING STORE in Georgia is out of stock. Kudos to me for living in Atlanta, the biggest freakin city in the southeast.
