Congrats modfather! I would do what flashburn suggested above and get DVE for HD. You got a very good price for it. Heck $1699 is what the 42" model goes for. And good choice on your first HD movie to show off your new display.

As for help configuring it, you didn't specify any details (or I just missed them). But I'd look over at AVSForum. Look in the Display Devices area. For my particular set (Samsung HL-S5687W), there's an owners thread that's up to 635 pages and over 19,000 posts. If you can find a thread for your particular model of TV like that, then they would be WAY more qualified to get you started. |
Ok, here's another quick question (again, thanks to all those who've replied - GREAT info!):
Is the Monster cleaning solution good for removing fingerprints? As I mentioned, it was an open-box TV, but if I don't get the 3-4 fingerprints off this screen, I swear I'll take it back and pay the extra $150 for the boxed version! :) I called Philips and they said not to use it, just use water on a damp, soft cloth. I did that, but now when the TV is off, I have streaks... :( |

Now, if I could just figure out how to set up the display with the TV, I'd be thrilled! BB wanted to sell me a "set up" service for $200 (if I bought it last night - $300 otherwise). Seems a bit steep. Anyone have this TV who can suggest how to configure it? Thanks again for all the advice! Steve |
