But I believe it has to have the Magnolia inside of it. That section is the one that actually carries it.

Not 100% true. One of my local stores carries it and there is no Magnolia inside.
Goto BestBuy.com and do a store search? It should show up, right?

Nope does not show up under BestBuy.com

Only on this side.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....ci_sku=8259573

But it sounds like YMMV. Either way check BB, they have the lowest price.

Any chance this model is likely to go on "clearance" at retailers once the 3G models arrive? I'm hoping to get one as well, as I need the 5.1 analogs.

Thanks for the information guys. Gizmo you the man!! I called my local Best Buy here in Chicago. They had 2 in stock. They did happen to have the Magnolia store inside it. I got it for 499.99, just like you said. Bonus: I returned the Xbox 360 add-on from last week's 300 deal and he told me to keep 300, b/c it was a bigger pain in the a*s to return it. Plus those Best Buy reward points are always nice.

Not a problem. I read over at AVS that BB is clearing these out in anticipation of the newer models. One guy got an open box one for $350.

Amazon.com has a deal on this now with 3 free movies that nets out at $542. I'm tempted, but I noticed that the new HD-A35 is going to street next month at $499.

I'm not clear on which is the better model. I've done some reading, but it's tough to compare based on the limited published specs of the HD-A35.

Usually, the older models are cheaper than the newer one, but then again, newer is not always better.

If anyone has any insight, I'd be very grateful.

The rumor is though that the A35 is not going to be using the same Reon chip that is in the XA2. In other words it is not exactly going to be a replacement. Thats why alot of people are jumping on finding the XA2. But who knows. Personally I am going to wait until next week after CEDIA and see if the final specs come out.
